Mak screamed as Aspen's claws slashed him.

I stood up. My arm burned and the light glowed as bright as it did when I fought Shadow.

Before Aspen could strike again I clawed the air and light shot at Aspen.

He flew off of Mak and blood streamed from his back in three long streams. It looked like an enlarged version of Shadow's scratches.

I heard laughter. I had no idea which direction it came from but I knew it was Shadow. And he was pleased at the injuries we were inflicting on each other.

Sun was unconscious and I knew that she fainted when Aspen attacked Mak.

I felt a searing pain in my back and I was sent flying into the river.

When I popped out of the water I saw that it was turning red. I touched my back and looked at my hand. It was covered in my blood.

Flora screamed. I turned and saw her lifting into the air and grabbing at something around her neck but it was invisible.

I jumped out of the water and clawed the air again. The light hit something unseen and blood appeared in thin air.

I noticed that it was very dark out.

"Shadow!!! Leave my friends alone!!!" I screamed as I ran at the invisible being.

It appeared and scared me so much I tripped over myself.

It wasn't Shadow. It was my dad.
