The water droplets slowly rolled down Sky's jet black hair as she finished drying off.

The silence was awkward and long. I took this opportunity to really check her out.

She wore a purple tank top and jean shorts that exposed her tan long legs. The shirt clung to her curves showing off her slim figure.

Sky was not only hot and incredibly sexy but beautiful to.

I looked back to her eyes. They were an amazing shade of green that seemed to glow in the dark.

The moon provided us with little light but I could still see all the white roses surrounding the little sandy beach on a river.

"Thanks for coming down here with me. I just need to get my mind off of things....." her voice was almost as beautiful as her, almost, even if it cracked at the end.

A tear slowly trickled down her cheek followed quickly by others.

I cupped her cheek with my right hand. My left snaked around her waist and pulled her to my chest.

I wiped away the tears with the pads of my thumbs.

"It's not your fault. You didn't kill her, Shadow did. No one blames you. They know you couldn't save her." The look in her eyes told me that she didn't believe me and I knew nothing that I said would change that. So I used actions.

I leaned down the last few inches that separated us. In seconds my lips were on her's. I tried to put all the passion and love into the kiss. Trying to show her that no one hated her.

A few seconds later her lips were moving in sinc with mine. Her arms wrapped around my neck. I placed my hand on the small of her back and pulled her closer to me so that no space was left in between us.

Her tongue licked my lips asking for access, which I granted.

I loved this. I loved the way she played with my hair and the way she seemed to love this as much as me.

But I knew she didn't feel the same. I could tell that she loved Aspen. The way she looked at him, she'd never look at me like that.

I pulled away and rested my forehead on her's. Her eyes slowly opened and looked into mine.

"You love him," it wasn't a question and she knew it.

"But I like you too."

I pulled back.

"But you love him. Whatever you feel for me is insignificant next to what you for him. When you love someone like that, you never let go because if you do doubt sinks in. And that's all I am, doubt. So even though I think you're beautiful inside and out and I never want to let you go. But I have to because you're not mine to hold on to. Go get him and hold on tight. Don't worry about me. Your true love is right in your reach. Don't keep him waiting."

Her lips were on my cheek for only a second before she pulled away.

"You're so wonderful and one day a girl will be lucky to have you.....it's just not me." Her voice trailed off.

"I know."

She turned around and slowly walked back into the forest. I watched her retreating form and with it all my hope of us. I know I made the right choice.

I also know that it hurts. It hurts a lot.

AN: If you didn't figure it out already, then that was Mak's POV.

This chapter was way longer than most of my others. Oh well. Also I changed my mind on doing a contest for this story. Meh. Keep reading!!!
