Saihara's POV:
Hearing my brisk steps echo across the floor, I head to my room in a daze. Today's been a good day, I think. I hung out with Kaito for a bit, and he suggested that we should do training every day. The idea sounds a bit odd... but I guess it could happen.

As the clock ticks closer to 5 o'clock, I remembered I was supposed to meet up with Ouma. Feeling more optimistic then usual, I hop up the stairs to his room.

Ding dong!

I click the doorbell a couple times. There's no answer. Where is he then? He told me to meet at his room, at this time... Maybe I got it wrong somehow? Maybe he was supposed to meet me in my room instead? Yeah, that makes sense.

I head back to my room. I got some books from the library, so I think I'll just stay alone and read those instead.. As I flop onto my bed, I pull myself under the covers and start reading. At first, I started hearing some weird sounds. It seems to be coming from near my door, so it must be something outside.

Confused, I open the door and look around. No one's even outside in this area, so what was that sound I heard? It must've been in my head. I go back to my bed and continue reading, until I get thirsty and want a drink.

"Hm, I think I had some water in the fridge, so I guess I'll just drink that..." I mutter as I open up the fridge. I peer inside for the bottle of w- "AHHHHHHHHHH!"

Purple hair. White clothes. Pale skin. Kokichi Ouma, my friend. No- he was more then a friend. "What the--?" First, I'm in a state of pure shock. Who the hell would hide someone... in a fridge?! And my fridge, too?!

Is this real? Is that really him? No... No... that can't be the truth. "Haha... this... this is a lie, isn't it? Yeah..."

His skin was so pale white he looked like a ghost. His hair looked darker then its normal color, and whenever I reached my hand out to touch it, it was wet and cold, too. When I touched his hands it was even colder. Dead cold. Like there was no will to live, or life at all in there. Steam rose around him, any traces of water or ice on his skin had evaporated.

"No...No way..." I quickly carry him out of the fridge on heave him onto my bed. My hands trembled along with my arms, as I stare at him. My heavy breathing only seemed to make up for his lack of it. Fridges are airtight... and the dorm rooms don't even have very big fridges, so how long was he even in there?! His body barely changed position when I set him on my bed, still curled up like he was in the fridge. Does that mean... riger mortis* has set in? "No... This can't be..." What kind of bastard would try to...?

Second of all, how did they move him to my room? They'd have to pick the lock to get in, because my room's always locked. I remember using my key to open it this time, too. Does that mean... Kokichi went in here himself, and...?

No... he would never do that, right?

((*Riger mortis is when the body becomes stiff some time after death.))

I embraced myself around the cold body that used to be Kokichi. I feel numb. Without him, there really is no point, is there? I try to warm him up with a hug. It must've been so cold in there for him...

Then I feel his arms move to hug me too. "O...Ouma...?" I look down back at him. "Is that really...?"

"Yep!" he exclaims. I let out a sigh of relief, as Ouma rubs my tired eyes with his hand. "Ah-haha, you scream like a girl, Saihara! I can't believe you really thought I was dead."

It was then I realized how much I missed that face, and how much he meant to me. Tears starting forming in my eyes, and when they started to pour, they didn't stop. "I'm... I'm sorry..."
