Saihara's POV:
As I headed to the dining hall, Kaito tagged along with me. "Hey bro!"

"Oh, hey Kaito."

"You goin' to the dining hall too?" he asks me in a friendly tone.

"Ah, yeah." I start to continue to head to the dining hall but Kaito grabs my shoulder to stop me.

"Where's your boyfr- I mean Kokichi?"

"Huh? Oh, he's coming in a min- wait, did you call him boyfriend?"

"What can I say? Y'know, you two go together like peanut butter and jelly. Heh- I'm allergic to peanut butter though."

"Please, ah, it's not like that!" I exclaim as my cheeks redden. Am I sure about that?

"Oh, don't worry. I'm just kidding. But really... Kokichi's kind of dangerous, y'know what I mean? I'd watch my back if I were you," Kaito explains.

"You think so?" I say.

"Yeah... but hey! If you wanna keep your back safe, just hang out with me instead!" he says. Is he trying... to keep me away from Kokichi? But why? Kaito's never done that before. He's acting kind of odd... I shrug off the thought as I spot Ouma leaving his room.

"Hiiiiii, Saihara-chan! What are you doing with Kaito, hm?" he asks me as he gives me a cute smile.

"Ah, n-nothing! We were just talking..." I trail off.

"Nishishi... Alrighty then!" he says, seeming a bit skeptic of the idea. The three of us head to the dining hall, where Korekiyo, Kirumi, Ryoma and Tsumugi have already arrived.

"Why hello, Shuichi, Kaito, and Kokichi," Korekiyo says as he straightens his hat.

"Hey..."

"Would you boys like anything for breakfast?" Kirumi asks us.

The three of us tell her what we want, and Kirumi complies as she heads to the kitchen. I take a seat next to Tsumugi and Kokichi, while Kaito sits across from me next to Ryoma and Korekiyo.

"Hey! Do you think we should share the motive videos today?" Ouma asks excitedly.

"Yeah, I'm interested in seeing who's most important to me..." Ryoma mutters.

"Um, are you sure? It might lead to another killing," Tsumugi points out.

"Hm, that is very likely, but I don't mind either way," Korekiyo says.

"Well, you might be okay with it, but I definitely don't want anyone dead!" Kaito exclaims.

He's loud.

"Aww..." Ouma says sadly. "I really wanted to see mine. Who even has mine, anyway?"

A lurch forms in my stomach when I realize it was me who switched Kaito's video with Ouma's. It's for the best, I think to myself. The last thing I want is Ouma murdering someone and getting executed for it.

"Eh, it's probably not anyone here anyway," Ouma says, but he looks straight at me. I can't quite place the look in his eyes. Is he angry at me? He must've realized I had it. Am I that easy to read?!
