"I am so-" I cut myself off when I realize who I'm dealing with.

He's real?

"Damon?" I say in such a whispered tone, I know Elena can't hear me. He looks at me with an innocent smile, so I play along. Elena looks like she's about to freak out.

"I..I'm so sorry for barging the door was.... open." She panics. We both turn around to see the door closed. Damon must've closed it, right? I am seriously getting ready to research everything on vampires. I don't know if I should warn Elena or play along longer.

I then realized how close we were to each other. His breath was fanning my face. I take a step back, and I release a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"You must be Elena." He charms, and kisses her hand. Then he turns to me again.

"And you must be Destiny, the best friend! I'm Damon, Stefan's brother." My jaw literally dropped. Oh my god.

Elena must've thought my jaw dropped because of his looks, but no. It was for a very different reason. Although, he is pretty attractive. Because she thought it was something else, she gave me a teasing smirk when Damom wasn't looking. Which I glared at her for.

If he is a vampire, Stefan has to be one too, right?

"Stefan never told us he had a brother." I say speaking up.

If he did, I would've been on top of that.

"Well, Stefan's not one to brag." He smirks. "Come."

"Please. Come, I'm sure Stefan will be along any second." I hesitantly take a step forward, into the living room.

"Can I go now?" I whisper to Elena.

Elena looks at me pissed, I guess I can't! She could've of just said so instead of giving me a death stare. Damon just stands there...looking attractive.

"So...you're back up?" Damon asks. I blush in embarrassment.

Does that mean vampires do have superhearing?

I change the topic by looking around the living room again, "Wow, so this is your living room?"

"Living room, parlor, Sotheby's auction." Damon shrugs. "It's a little kitschy for my taste." It goes quiet again. "I see why my brother's so smitten." He looked at Elena, Elena looked confused. Which is what I probably looked like too.

"It's about time. For a while there, I thought he'd never get over the last one." He sighed. "Nearly destroyed him." Damon's face showed concern. Damn, he's good.

What game is he playing?

"The last one?" Elena asked with a sad tone.

She's letting him get to her! I guess I was right, like I said before. I can already tell he's an ass.

"Yeah." Damon answered. "Katherine, his girlfriend?" Elena made a face, telling him she had not heard of a Katherine. "Oh, you two haven't had the awkward ex's conversation yet."

"Who has?" I snap. He's messing with my friend, I should speak up about it. Then again he is a vampire...

"Honestly, I'm asking." I say as I cross my arms. I look him right in the eyes and glared. It's crazy to believe that those ocean blue eyes are the same red, murderous eyes I looked into last night. He gave me a challenging glare right back, probably pissed I wouldn't shut up.

"Well," his voice trailed off, "I do, with my past spouses."

"Well," I mocked him, "we don't."

"My mistake." He gave us a fake frown, "but I'm sure it'll come up now." Damon looked away from me, breaking the glaring contest we had going on. "Or maybe he didn't want to tell you because he didn't want you to think he was on the rebound."
