Izuku POVHopes and dreams come and go.
One in particular never left me.
"Make a wish."
It was the only birthday I ever had.
At the age of three Izuku Midoriya made one singular wish.
To believe in something worth believing in.
Not quite knowing the full context.
When I was sobbing into my pillow that night I realized something.
I wanted to wish for something, something new, something selfish.
I wanted something for me.
I don't know why it was so important to attend this mysterious school but it was.
I didn't know where it was or even how to get there.
I knew one thing though: I would go to this school if it was the last thing I did.
I carried on as usual wearing the same old uniform I've had since the eighth grade.
I was 15 almost 16.
Not that I was counting down the days or anything...
Maybe I was.
Two days have passed since then but I've been slowly packing my small room away.
I would go even if I had no clue where to.
I was done.
I wanted to believe in something...
Anything.
Today was also the day I received a peculiar note in my locker.
I unfolded it since the only notes I get are ones of hatred.
Stupid Medusa and her gang always being mean to me this is probably another prank of theirs.
Dearest Zu,
You might not remember me but I remember you,
Eyes like the forest,
Hair like the waves of the sea,
Come at the peer at six if you want to meet me~ A person from the past
I was intrigued to say the least but it probably wasn't safe.
Not in the least.
"Oi damn brat where are you going?!"
- Uncle"To get... some fish for a special dinner."
"Tch Whatever not like we care."
- Auntie"Love you too..."
Not.
So I went to the peer.
The sun was already setting.
Maybe they won't be coming.
As soon as I turned around I felt a pair of hands grab me from behind.
I let out a gasp and whirled around to see the culprit.
"Who are you?!"
"Me? Oh such a shame you don't remember me... The mage Todoroki."
"To.. do.. roki?"
"That's my name."
"How do I know you."
"A chance in counter eons ago."
"I have a bad memory as it is so please enlighten me?"
"That's a story for another time..."
"Then what do you need me for?"
"About your transfer into the Yuuei."
"Wait. WAIT. HOLD UP DID YOU SAY YOU WERE A MAGE?!"
"The one and only."
"I thought..."
"What that mages wore pointy hates and long robes and had long white beards."
"Well yeah..."
"If you saw a mage like that so easily in public that would ruin the purpose of hiding your identity. We're not some character out of Game of Thrones or Once Upon a Time ya know."
"Sheesh. I got the message. So what is it you wanted to talk about?"
I smiled internally of what this man says is true then after all this time maybe I really do have something to believe in.
That something to believe in is a future.
