Song of The Chapter: Enchanted - Taylor Swift

MATT
"Hey." The text read. I don't know a lot of people so I'm betting it's Scott. Before I jump into conclusion though, it's best to be sure.

I type a quick "Hello" back and wait for a reply.

"It's Scott. Just in case u were wondering who this is. I'll bet ur phone's swamped with texts." The reply came in instantly.

"Lol. Not at all. On the contrary, I'm at a motel watching my coach watch tv. Weird right? There's nothing to do here."

"U wanna come back real quick? I haven't forgotten ur flight's set for 19:45 soo I won't take much of ur time."

"Yeah. My stuff's all packed. About that, I'm not so sure I can go out. I snuck out the first time." I feel so bummed.

"C'mon. Try, please?" This feels surreal. Like how does someone that hot want me over? I do a double take on myself.

"Okay." The time is currently 5:44pm. I decide quickly. Clearing my throat to speak, I'm abruptly stopped by Evan.

"What is it?" Evan says, rubbing his temple.

"Can I please go to the hospital again?"

"Do you and that guy have something together? He your boyfriend? I remember Ben telling me you're gay."

I don't think I've ever been so shocked and embarrassed. This is so inappropriate! Well, he knows. Moving forward.

"We just um, know each other. Nothing else to it, sir." I say trying my very best to not make eye contact.

"Well, if you're going, I'm coming with. Pack up your stuff. We'll leave for the airport from there. Resby Hospital, is it?"

"Okay. Yeah."

The good part about Evan coming with me was that, I didn't pay for the cab. Lol.

I start typing a text to Scott.
"Heads up. I'm coming with my coach. He wouldn't let me come alone." This is going to be so awkward.

"Okay."

The drive to the hospital was smooth. At the hospital, I noticed a plethora of news reporters. Apparently, being a US National Champion is a pretty big deal. There is security everywhere. Three at the entrance, one of them in the middle holding an iPad. We walk up to him.

"Who are you here for." He asks in a very commanding tone.

"Here to see Scott Foley." I thought about using the cousin line again but, that might seem crazy.

"Not a chance pal. You're not on the list. Plus, who do you think all these people are here to see?" He smirks.

I text Scott, letting him know I was at the entrance and wasn't allowed in.

The man in the middle got a call and answered with a bluetooth earpiece. He nodded a couple of times. He pointed at me.

"Step forward. Name?"

"Matt Fox."

"You've been cleared. Go in."

I turned to look at Coach Evan. I wanted to laugh but I dared not. That's when it happened. Reporters started asking me questions.

"Who are you mister?"

"Who is Scott to you?"

Photographers started taking pictures of me. Not knowing how to handle it, I just ran into the hospital.
