Anna (POV)

2 more weeks till graduation. My school days has been flying with no problems at all. In fact not once has the cheer leading team or foot ball team has made another attempt to bully me. Not since uncle has taken me to class that one day.

Makes me wonder if he had anything to do with it.

No longer on crutches and my wound had heals nicely, thank goodness for that.

At first for the first couple of days he had taken me to school himself and picked me up too. Now it's one of his drivers. I hardly see him. And since living with him I have no excuse to see him at his working place because there is always food at home.

Home. I finally have a home.

Aside from not seeing him, he rarely comes home. When I had called his working place aunt Tony tells me his office is his second home.

I wish we could go back to the way things were.  I loved messing up his dates.  It was fun.

Entering my closet I gazed at the many clothes he had bought me. Most of them dresses. I haven't worn dresses ever since my parents died.

It was already late as I sat on my bed thinking. What's the point of adopting me if he is never home.

At my foster parent's home, I was never alone. I like the noise, it brought me comfort. Now this house is just dead. Even the woman who supposedly share the same bed room as uncle is never here. Not once have I seen her.

Maybe those woman's clothes in uncles closet belongs to his other flings.

Holding up a flyer, it was the flyer for my graduation ceremony. I wonder if uncle would be interested in going. I can reserve him a seat. He should go after all I will only graduated once from high school.

Well I am most definitely excited. Everything is going according to plan. The principal did write me that recommendation later, and I had sent all my college applications as well as my financial application and scholar ships too.

Today was the day.  It was a Saturday and Linda had told me that Aidan will be coming home from work.  I had prepared a nice dinner for him with the help of Linda.

Nearing noon I sat at the dining table with an empty plate in front of me and a full course meal while I waited for him to enter.

My tummy had growled an hour later as I continued to wait.

"Anna, why don't you have something to eat now dear."  Linda looked at me putting some food on my plate.

This almost made me miss Lita and Bill and the kids.  I never ate alone.  Now I am here with empty chairs.  "Linda would you care to join me please."  Every time I ate alone, she was the one who kept me company.  Though I didn't mind she was a sweet old lady who never had kids let alone grand kids and she treats me like I was one of her own.

Pulling up a chair we both laughed and talked.  Not once has she asked me of my stay here.  I hate to admit but it's rather lonely.

Holding back the tears I quickly asked her, "Do you think uncle regrets adopting me?"  The sorrow in my voice was not missed.

"Sweet heart Mr. Aidan Willams is just a very busy man.  Truth be told he rarely comes home."  She sighed.

I knew that he was busy but could he at least call especially if he says he wasn't going to be home for dinner.

"Don't take it to heart dear.  If it helps he calls to ask about you."

Does he really?  This gave me a bit of hope.  "I'm graduating next weekend.  Do you think he will show if I ask him too?"
