Alex Pov
"How ya doing doc?" John said, leaning on the wall.

We weren't allowed out our cells today. A few guys were found with drugs and they tried to beat up the guards.
I didn't know who,
and to be frank,
I didn't care.

"New nickname?" I asked.
"Anythin' for you kid." He replied.

I smirked.
"Nice."

"So, Whatcha want to talk about to pass time?" He asked.

"Don't know." I replied simply, staring at the ceiling.

He sighed and climbed up the ladder to sit on my bed.

"Come on doc, you cant stare at the ceiling all day." He said.

"Watch me." I shot back.
"Oi! Cool it," He warned.

"Anyway, Tell me about something! Like uh..I don't know..doctor stuff or...what was his name..Drake?"
He said.

"Dylan." I corrected under my breath. "Dylan." He finalized.

I sighed.

"I ain't talking bout him." I said.
"Fine." He muttered.

"What bout you? Ever had a boyfriend..Erm..girlfriend?" I asked.

"Uh..Yeah. Boy named Samuel Seabury in high school. He was a quiet, nervous fellow and I liked him for it." John said.

I looked at him and raised a brow. "You're gay?" I asked.

He averted his eyes and nodded. "Cool," I sighed.

"That doesn't mean we're going to do shit together just because..yeah." He said quickly.

I smirked.
"..Right."

Funny how his mind went there almost immediately..

He cleared his throat.
"You do it with Sam?" I asked.

"Hell no!
Ah, sorry.
No, I didn't.
After a while he showed me that he was an idiot. Then there was Francis..
who just..
left."
He said, grimacing slightly.

"Damn. I went out with Dylan for a while, around two years." I said.

"What happened?" He asked. I shrugged.

"He changed his mind. Said he wasn't gay anymore. Which makes no fucking sense but uh, yeah. Then I went out with Connor. That didn't work out. And after a while, I just gave up on trying."
I said.

"That sucks.
But Alex, I'm going to be very clear when I say, tell no one here that you're gay. They'll beat your ass." He said warningly.

"Worse than Thomas did?" I asked. "You won't be able to take a piss by yourself." He deadpanned.

"D-Did they..do it to you?" I asked.

"No. But one person did find out. He's not in jail anymore but I was cautious. Not even Herc and Laf, and I trust them and would follow them to the end of the world." He said.

I nodded, sitting up.
My head still felt like shit, but I didn't say anything.

"You  alright doc? You look...pale. More than usual." John told me, concern spread on his face.

"Oh thanks." I muttered.

"Kid,"
"I ain't a kid."
"Doc,"
"Not a doctor anymore."
"Okay, um..Human being,"
"Im hardly a human being."

He huffed.

"Alright, Alexander, do you need some fucking water?" He hissed.

"No need to be upset." I said.
"Y-you..you bitch!" He exclaimed.

"Some water would be nice. Ask the guard for new bandages and painkillers. The bandage on my nose is going to become useless soon." I said.

He huffed yet again.
"Fine."

"Thank youuu!" I called as he went down the ladder.

He stopped at the bars of the cell. "Wait. We're on lockdown." He said.

"Well fuck. This is going to be really painful in around thirty minutes." I muttered.

He took off his shoes and hit it on the bars of the cell.

"What the hell are you doing?!" I hissed.

"Trying to draw attention so you won't have to endure pain." He said, continuing to hit the bars.

My face softened.
"T-thanks."

"No problem kid,
anything for you."
