"One, Two, Three...Four..."
by the time I reached Four I heard laughing.
I wasn't scared.
This was an hallucination after all.
That much I knew.
The next moment a hand took mine and swept past me.
I turned around, but only my classmates were behind me.
"Hoseok-ah," the teacher called me.
Only then did I realize where I was:
I was in math class.
I was counting the fruits in my textbook aloud for the class.
"Five, six..." I started counting again.
As the number grew larger, my palms grew clammy
with sweat and my voice began to shake.
I couldn't stop remembering that day.
I couldn't stop going back to that time.
