"I'm so excited!"

"Really?" Jeongguk questioned as he combed through his hair in the mirror admiring its sleek black appearance. "You were so distraught about leaving your friends the other day though."

"But we're in Seoul now! There are so many possibilities here!" Jihyo said as she moved into the bathroom nudging her brother out of the mirror so she could brush her hair instead. "Do you think there'll be any protagonists in my class? We're going to a bigger school now so surely there'll be some here!"

Jeongguk chuckled at his adopted sister's question and placed his comb in his respected drawer. He had been living with this family for about a year now and they decided to move to the capital since they'd been offered a job promotion. Jihyo was ecstatic which how cool it'd be living in Seoul and Jeongguk couldn't help but feel happy that his new foster family treated him like an actual average human being.

He also was happy that buying hair dye was easier in the city than in the countryside but that wasn't something he could voice his joy over.

"Do you plan to befriend one?"

"Not really, I'm not on their level to be friends with them, you know?" She said causing Jeongguk to frown. "I just want to be able to see one, to like see how cool they are to be a main character."

"I'm sure they're not that cool."

"You sound jealous!" She said laughing as she flicked Jeongguk on the noise causing him to playfully scowl at her. "You've totally fantasized how cool it would be if you were a main character. Don't lie either! I know everyone at least imagines what it'd be like to be a protagonist."

Jeongguk only rolled his eyes at that as he walked out of the bathroom making his way to his room. His foster family now was living in an apartment so his room was quite smaller than it was in their old house but he didn't mind. He even considered the shabby broken down orphanage better living space than the places he lived in before he dyed his hair.

"Hurry up or we're going to be late to school."

Before he even could hear a response Jihyo grabbed her bag and rushed past him leaving him alone in the apartment. Jeongguk simply rolled his eyes knowing that his foster sister probably didn't want to be caught walking to school with him on their first day which was fine. After all, Jihyo was the older one, she could handle finding her way around.

And Jeongguk wasn't entirely scared of going to a new school sure he'd get attention being a new student but that would fade away and he'd be welcomed with an average student life.

He couldn't help but smile at that thought.

In his old school, he didn't have a lot of friends but he wasn't necessary lonely. He could have easily made friends but he seemed to always feel drained when hanging out with people so he preferred to be alone. And he was able to get that wish.

He made his way out of the apartment following the road that Jihyo had ran before him. There wasn't really a rush to getting to school but he knew that she had planned to socialize and make friends while she was here too. They were in the same grade too so she probably was going to try and find Jeongguk potential friends.

Technically Jeongguk was supposed to be a sophomore but thanks to him studying often at his second time at an orphanage he had been able to move up a grade. He still struggled with school often though due to him lacking time to study with his part-time jobs.

Buying hair dye every week wasn't cheap.

"I should probably start looking for a job here too." He mumbled as he looked around the street he was walking on noting that he was basically at the school's entrance. "I only have so much money saved up from my old job."

Looking up he saw the cherry blossoms blowing in the wind in front of the entrance to his school and he couldn't help but chuckle. It looked like a cliche sight that came right out of an anime and all it needed was some protagonist to come and live out their story here.

"And that protagonist," he said smiling as he adjusted his bag, "is not me."
