"You really haven't told you friends about what happened?"

"I don't want them to worry about it," Jeongguk said as he slowly moved his neck allowing Taemin to have more access to place setting powder on it. He had messaged the older after his second hour asking to help him cover his bruises better at lunch. Luckily the foundation had managed to stay for the most part keeping his bruises hidden through his morning classes. "They already want me to quit my job and I can't do that."

"Are you still planning to work at the cafe?"

"Yeah? Why would I not?" The younger said panicking as he turned to look at Taemin. "Why? Am I going to be fired or something?"

"Well no," Taemin said as he put away his makeup brush leaving the setting powder out for Jeongguk to take. "Normally if something traumatic happens to someone they don't want to go back to that place."

Jeongguk couldn't help but frown at what Taemin was saying. Not wanting to go through traumatic situations again made sense but he couldn't understand why everyone was thinking what had happened was so horrendous. It was terrifying but it ended up fine so why were they worried about it? Well, looking back on it Jeongguk could recall he truly had given up when he realized he couldn't escape and had been ready to just accept his death.

His last thoughts really would have just been wondering what people would think when his hair turned blue on his corpse.

But he had been through way worse, some random guy trying to choke him to death was nothing. He couldn't help but laugh thinking about all the times his old foster parents had hit him so much harder.

"Jeongguk, are you okay?" Taemin immediately went wrapping his arms around the younger seeing that he was now crying. "Hey, it's fine. You don't have to work if you don't want and if you actually do I'm sure you still can."

"I need to work still." He responded as he pushed away from the older. "I'm not going to quit because I need this job, I really need to be working more too."

Taemin nodded in response noticing how Jeongguk seemed to be stressing about working. He didn't want to tell the younger that he shouldn't be working as it appeared all of his friends had already told him that. He himself had needed to work often to be able to have money to help support his family so he understood the panic Jeongguk was going through.

"Do you want to meet up after school then?" Taemin said trying to lighten the mood. "We both have scheduled shifts today and we can walk to the cafe together, we can discuss your working situation there too."

"Yeah," Jeongguk said as he rubbed his eyes trying to get away the tears. "I'd really like that."

"Jeongguk isn't down there," Jimin said frowning as he looked down at the courtyard seeing Yugyeom and Bambam eating. "Do you think he's missing school again?"
