"Sharon, I'm so incredibly sorry... We're going to have to cut this evening short," Steve insisted, rushing over at lightning speed and removing Bucky's crushing hand from her dainty wrist with a sharp tug and a glare. "We'll do this another time, just the two of us," he promised, unsure of how productive it would be to let Bucky close to her again.

He showed her politely to the door and issued her with a peck on the cheek to say goodbye and sorry.

"I'm sorry, Steve," she whispered to him, concern, guilt and anxiety gleaming in her eyes.

Bucky was ominously glaring from the corner, a look of upmost disdain.

Steve have him a stern look. "It's not your fault. I don't know what's gotten into him," Steve assured her, placing a comforting hand on her arm. "He's acting completely out of order. Don't worry, I'll sort this."

With that, he graciously held the door open for her and let it swing shut as she exited.

Steve's head nodded against the door and he slumped against the door for support. He sighed deeply, feeling a small amount of anger seeding within him.

"Do you wanna tell me what the hell that was all about?" Steve murmured, his voice dulled by the wood he was facing, the sound ricocheting only into his ears.

Bucky's eyes rested on Steve and he gave an unseen shrug. "I don't know what you mean..."

"You know exactly what I mean!" Steve yelled at the top of his lungs, turning suddenly to face Bucky with his face like a storm cloud, his cheeks pink and puffed out in anger.

Bucky swallowed hard and chewed his lip. His eyes got a little wider and he averted his troubled gaze. He clutched his wounded hand and massaged the aching joints.

"What the hell has gotten into you?!" Steve demanded to know, taking slow steps towards the unhinged super soldier, determined to find out what had inspired such disgusting behaviour.

"Nothing's gotten into me..." Bucky whimpered in a pathetic slightly panicky voice.

"You threatened her... I can't believe I'm even saying this... You threatened our neighbour!" Steve gestured to the door as he walked ever closer. "Why?" Steve gasped in an emotionally pained voice. "Why, Buck?" He was pleading. His face was the depiction of despair and desperation. He wanted answers.

"You never thought perhaps she was threatening me?" Bucky suggested in a low voice laced with tension.

"You? Did she?" Steve thought to double-check, but that just wasn't in Sharon's nature. "Tell me she threatened you and I will honestly go over there right now and confront her about it," he suggested. "So did she?" He placed his hands on his hips and tilted his head down to give Bucky an interrogatory look, a slightly more threatening one.

"No..." He downheartedly admitted. "But you didn't think to question that!"

"Then why did you do it?!" Steve spluttered in amazement, feeling like he was talking to a brick wall. The conversation was completely one sided.

"Because I don't like her!" Bucky yelled back at him, lurching forwards like a provoked lion, the answer suddenly being evoked from him.

"Why not?! What did she ever do to you?!" Steve found himself raising his voice at Bucky, exclaiming in disbelief.

There was a moment of silence and Bucky looked Steve over, reading his reaction. "You genuinely don't get it, do you?" Bucky scoffed, taking a few steps back, pressing himself into a corner and giving Steve a miffed face.

"Get what?" Steve questioned, getting more exasperated and impatient by the second.

"You're blind! It's unbelievable!" Bucky spat poisonously, his face painted with anger.
