Tris's POV
It's been a month since I have seen Tobias. My parents took me out of school for a while and we went to Canada. Caleb and I argued continuously so my parents got fed up and took us home.
I run my hands over my pillow. Home seems so strange. It doesn't feel like home at all and my heart aches for Tobias. Only a week ago, I had my first cry over our break up. A whole month and nothing. No call or text. No Tobias. My life feels so empty without him and I can't take it much longer.
Only now do I realise that we were never really dating. It was more like an affair without sleepong together. So why do I miss him so much.
I need some fresh air. I grab my bag and head out of the house. With my luck, I spot Leighton only a few metres away. I make a sharp turn but he sees me and chases after me.
"Tris! Wait!" His nails dig into my arm and I stop.
"I don't want to talk Leighton." I don't face him so he can't see my bloodshot eyes.
"Tris, please just here me out." He begs and I turn to face him. I must look like hell but fortunatly he doesn't say anything.
"I did a bit of thinking, back to the time when I used to be, you know. I realised that sometimes I didn't really treat you the way I should and I'm sorry for that."
"You're not getting me back Leighton." I tell him.
"I know. Tris I have a girlfriend." The words take me by surprise.
"What?"
"I have a girlfriend. I thought I should try it out, you know, be the good guy a girl needs. I really do love her and she loves me. I like it this way."
"I'm glad for you." I smile.
"We have known eachother for a while now and it seems a shame to throw tht away. If you ever need someone, I'm here for you." He tells me and I smile gratefully. Well this conversation didn't go to planned.
"Here." Leighton passes me a bag of green and black pills and I gulp. "This was the last bag of F.A.M.F. I want you to have it. You look like you need it."
I take the bag quickly and stuff it in my pocket, trying to look as if nothing happened.
"Use it how you want. Throw the god damned thing away for all anyone cares. It only means bad things anyway. But if you want it, I won't judge." He waves goodbye and that is the last I see of my ex boyfriend.
