Nothing Left

Danny had nothing left. His parents didn't care about him, they never truly did. Sam and Tucker left, not a single trace left. Vlad gave up, vanishing off the face of the Earth. Danielle melted to goop. The ghost portal quit working. No one spoke to him, there was nothing to do.

"So is the town hero, Danny Phantom, really needed anymore?" Danny winced over hearing the news.

"Yeah!" Jack yelled, holding a gun above his head. Danny slipped off to school.

He slumped in his seat, thoughts swirling around in his head. Was he really needed anymore? "Daniel Fenton."

"Here." Danny says blankly.

"I'm aware a new rule was just let out, no hats in school." Mr. Lancer says. "So I'll be taking that." He yanked the beanie off Danny's head, and Danny held his ears down, hiding them in his major case of hat-hair.

The rule was brought up because of Dash, obviously. Dash snorted seeing Danny like that. Danny sighed, setting his head on his desk. "Please stay awake, Mr. Fenton."

"What's the point?" Danny asks.

"So you can learn. Your falling behind."

Danny's ears were normal now. "I'm not needed in this town, so why can't I finally get my rest?" Danny didn't bother keeping his tail up his shirt anymore. It fell. "I spent two years protecting you, running purely on energy drinks, coffee, and two minuets of sleep. Now I'm finally not needed." Danny started fading, a soft smile on his face. "You all have peace, now it's my turn."

His eyes closed.
