She climbed down a wooden ladder and they appeared in a smalls barn like room. Billywigs were flying around, and there were options and flasks everywhere. Newt climbed the ladder a but to call Jacob and soon the other man fell from the roof instead of climbing down normally.
"Jesus!" Jacob exclaimed as he landed on his feet. He was looking around at the billywig in awe.
"Please sit down," Newt said to him. Lily did the same and sat down on an unused table, not to bother anyone. As she did so, she watched as Newt took off his coat. All he had on was his white shirt, his vest and tie. Lily felt her cheeks going red and her body was now hot.
Newt walked to Mr. Kowalski, not even noticing Lily, and checked his wound. "That's definetly a murtlap. You must be particularly susceptible." He walked to the other side of the small room and went through some flasks. "You see, you're a muggle. So our physiologies are slightly different."
Newt took a few pills and a few leafs and made a small powder that he placed on Mr. Kowalski's wound.
"Ow."
"Stay still. Now that should stop the sweating," he said, walking back to his flasks. "And one of those should sort the twitch," he gave Jacob a few pills. The man hesitated, before gulping them. Newt then gave Lily a small cup with an almost transparent liquid.
"What's this for?" She asked him, slightly confused.
"For those," Newt told her softly, grabbing her arm gently and turning it up. Lily had forgotten that she was no longer wearing her coat, and all she had on covering her upper body was now a light blue shirt that only covered her arms up to her elbows. Lily looked down as Newt gently passed his other hand on her scars. She wished she wasn't the way she is. She wished she didn't have to wear long sleeved clothes even in summer so that people can't find out what she is. "Please," he pressured her once more once he noticed her hesitation.
Lily took a deep breath and brought the cup to her mouth. As soon as she felt the liquid touch her tongue, her face turned into a grimace. The drink was so sour Lily was quite sure she had burned her tongue on it. Still, she made an effort and drank it whole, giving the cup back to Newt.
"Thank you very much," he said, turning his back to the two others and grabbing what looked like giant chicken meat. He cut the ends of it and threw the rest in a bucket, that he gave to Jacob.
"Take that," Newt said, before walking away. He proceeded to take off his brown vest and untie his tie, letting it hang on his shoulders. He then took a small animal from his pocket and proceeded to squeeze it into a flask. "Come on."
"What have you got there," said Jacob, still standing up with his bucket in hands.
"This, the locals call swooping evil. Not the friendliest of names," Newt said. Lily gasped. She jumped down from her table and approached Newt, placing a hand on his shoulder to see the creature from behind him. She had to stand on her tip toes to actually pay attention to the beast.
"I've never seen one before," she said almost as a whisper.
"Careful, hes quite an agile fellow," Newt told her. He wouldn't admit it, but Newt was worried Liky was too close to him. He definetly didn want her to hear how fast his heart was beating. "I've been studying him, and I'm pretty sure his venom is quite useful is properly dilated. Just to remove bad memories, you know."
Newt threw the animal back like an yo-yo towards Jacob, who was absolutely terrified when it showed its true form. Newt pulled the thing back into his hand and looked at Lily with the cutest smile she had ever seen. "Probably shouldn't let him loose in here, though."
