"Goldstein!" A voice called from a distance. "Where is she?" It said again. "Goldstein!" Mr. Abernathy said as he walked near the deks. He already knew Tina was hiding behind it, and when he called again, he slowly stood up. "Did you just butt in on the Investigative Team again?" He asked her. "Where have you been?"
"What?" Tina asked innocently. Mr. Abernathy looked down at Lily, who was still sitting on Tina's desk. Lily shrugged.
"I have nothing to do with any of this," she told him. The man then turned to Mr. Scamander.
"Where did she pick you up?" He asked. Newt looked at the girls, who were looking at him with eyes wide open, obviously begging him not to sya anything.
"Me?" Newt asked as innocently as he could. Mr. Abernathy sighed.
"Have you been tracking them Second Salemers again?" Tina tensed up.
"Of course not, sir," she let out. Abernathy was about to add something, when Percival Graves walked in.
"Afternoon, Mr. Graves, sir," Mr. Abernathy said. Oh, how Lily hated him. Always pretending to be the perfect human being, never wrong.
"Graves," Lily greeted him, standing up. It wasn't to show him any respect, it was just not to make him feel superior to her.
"Baker," he acknowledged her presence. Tina stepped forward.
"Mr. Graves, sir, this is Mr. Scamander," Tina explained. "He has a crazy creature in that case and it got out and caused mayhem in a bank, sir." Lily tensed up. She knew Mr. Scamander had much more than one crazy creature inside of that case. Graves watched Tina, obviously not believing a word.
"Well, let's see the little guy," Graves said, walking over the case that was now sat on a desk. Newt tried to argue, but Graves put his hand up, shouting him down.
Lily and Newt watched from a distance as Tina opened the case and found... pastries? Lily was shocked. She was glad the beasts had not fallen in bad hands, but they really needed to find the actual case. She locked eyes with Newt, who besides her, was the only one who actually understood the gravity of the situation.
Graves sighed.
"Tina," he exhaled.
