Everyone had walked into a different direction, each feeding or helping a different animal.

Lily found herself busy with the Mooncalves. She was feeding the little things when she felt a cold wind freeze her all the way to her bones. Lily was always attracted to the cold, so when she felt it, she put her bucket down and slowly entered the room where wind was coming from.

She entered slowly, first noticing the snow. Her feet were wet in a mere few seconds, but it didn't stop her. For some reason, she felt lured by whatever it was that was in this place.

And then she felt something she hadn't felt in years. Her heart started beating faster and faster, as the magic she usually could control started to erupt.

She lifted her head and stared right in front of her. Even if she hadn't, she would still have known what this creature was, but she looked up either way. It was a small could of black held inside an invisible force field.

Lily started to feel her hands and feet go numb. She thought it was thanks to the temperature of the room, but when she took a glimpse at her hands, she could see the same black smoke surrounding her hands.

She couldn't stop herself. The other obscurus was almost charming her to come closer. She knew what could happen, she knew that this Obscurus could do nothing without an Obscurial, a body host like herself, but she kept taking small steps forward either way. It was like she could hear it in her head, telling her to come closer, to help it.

"Lily," she heard Newt's voice coming from behind her. His footsteps soon came closer and he was standing next to her, three feet away from the Obscurus. He turned his back to the thing and placed one of his arms around her waist, keeping her a certain distance from it. "Lillian, look at me."

Lily slowly took her eyes away from the black cloud and looked directly into Newt's eyes. He could see how her eyes were starting to become clouded, almost white. It was a sign that the Obscurus was taking over.

"Lily, you're alright. You're safe, calm down," he told her. Lily tried to take another glimpse at the dark matter, but Newt placed a hand on her cheek to keep her eyes on him. Newt found himself surprised at how he was able to look into this girls eyes for such a long time. He didn't feel anxious or nervous with her the way she felt with everyone else. He felt safe, and at the same time he felt like he needed to protect her.

He kept staring at her, watching her calm down. Soon, he saw her eyes clear and her hands became visible again, the dark smoke gone. He sighed in relief and pulled her into him, throwing his arms around her body. He held her head to his chest with his hand as he slowly walked away form his Obscurus.
