Yoongi couldn't remember how he got from the car to his room, but when his head hit the pillow he had fallen back to sleep again in seconds. He woke up by a knock on his door and Monet's sweet voice asking him if he wanted to join for dinner.

He muttered something incombrehensible in respons. When Monet asked again and he didn't answer she opened his door and came sitting at the end of his bed. "I don't feel like talking, Monet. Just leave me alone," Yoongi voice sounded drained from all emotion.

"We don't have to talk. I'll just sit here." Yoongi didn't want to look up, but by the tone in her voice he could hear he wouldn't be able to convince her to change her mind. Yoongi could hear her get up and walk over to his bookshelf.

She came back after looking at the books for a little bit and choosing one of them. "I'll just read a book. Take all the time you need, we can talk when you're ready," Monet stated calmly.

Yoongi subbornly remained silent. He didn't know why he felt irritated by Monet being here, after all she was just trying to look after him like any friend would. It was just all too much to take in right now.

Yoongi saw the minutes on the clock pass by. Minutes turned into an hour and then two hours. He slowly started to feel guilty. But Monet didn't seem to mind, she was just quietly reading her book, sometimes looking up to meet his eyes and shoot him a smile.

Two hours and fourteen minutes, that's how long it had taken for Yoongi to gather his thoughts and start talking. "My mom was there." His whispered voice sounded like a crash into the deafening silence from the last couple hours.

Monet didn't respond. She just slowly closed her book and shifted on the bed so she faced Yoongi. It was weird how she could make you feel comfortable with just her presence.

"She tried to convince me to drop the charges against her boyfriend. She told me she was pregnant. And at first I thought she was lying but she showed me the sonogram pictures and now I'm not so sure anymore," Yoongi's voice cracked, making the last couple words barely audible.

Yoongi looked up at Monet, searching for support in her eyes. "What if it's true? What if I'll be the one taking her dad away from her?" A single tear dropped out of the corner of his eye. "I don't know if I can live with that."

Monet leaned forword to take both Yoongi's hands between hers. "This boyfriend, what is he like? Why are you pressing charges against him?" Monet's question made Yoongi remember that he never actually told Monet about Hyung-Woo. Ji-Ho was the only one in the house that knew.

"He's an alcoholic and a mean drunk." Yoongi didn't need to explain more for Monet to understand what Hyung-Woo had done. "So wouldn't your mom and her baby be better off without him?" Monet asked.

Yoongi wished it was that simple. I mean they would be better off, but how would his mom take care of her? "You know my mom is a drunk too, right? The only reason why she's not living on the street and begging for money is him," Yoongi spat out the word him. Just like the first time he had tasted coffee, it left a bitter taste in his mouth.

"Once he's in jail, she'll be on the streets. And it is one thing to cause your mother to be homeless, but a whole other thing to condemn your baby sister to a life on the streets," Yoongi sounded defeated. There seemed to be no right way to go about this.

Monet frowned, Yoongi could almost see her brain working overhours. After a while she started speaking, carefully choosing her words. "I think that for now it's more important to protect her from your mother's boyfriend, and that once he's gone you can start thinking about how to protect her from your mom."

"Just take it one problem at a time, or else you'll break. You need to take care of yourself too Yoongi," Monet spoke resolutely while sqeezing his hand. Yoongi just nodded because he knew if he tried to speak he wouldn't be able to hold back his tears.

"Come here," Monet said moving over to him. "Let me give you a hug." Yoongi knew he wouldn't be able to stop her so he just gave into it. He felt her warm hands against his back and burried his face into her hair. It smelled like women's shapoo, like flowers and sweet summer fruits.

"You're a good guy Yoongi, don't be to hard on yourself," Monet whispered into his ear. Her kind words and warm embrace broke the last stenght in him to hold it all down. Quiet tears turned into uncontrolable sobbing.

Yoongi's day had been filled with so many conflicting emotions. Fear of seeing Shin-Cho again and not knowing if he'd ever forgive him. Relief from finally being able to speak about what happened between him and Shin-Cho. Sadness and sympathy from hearing about Shin-Cho's pain and struggle which was so similar to his. Happiness after finally reconciling with his best friend. Confusion from seeing his mom again. Anger, when she pulled the same old tricks as she always used to. And finally, shock and denial when she confessed her secret.

And now love. Love for Monet, not love love, but the one you feel for your friend. The one you feel when you're just casually hanging out on a tuesday after school and you know you don't even need to talk. Or when you laugh about a stupid joke for the longest time that your jaws start to hurt. Or when they're there for you when you need them most.

Yoongi knew in this moment that Monet would always be that person for him. In the short time he had gotten to know her, she had helped him in more ways he had thought possible. She wasn't just there for the good times, watching movies or talking about art and music. She was there for the bad times too, maybe even more so.

So they sat there for a couple minutes, even though it seemed like a lifetime. They just sat there holding each other. Monet gently stroking his back and Yoongi clinging onto her like she was the only lifevest in the middle of an ocean.

"Thanks Monet, you know, for now walking away when I shut you out," Yoongi finally said when he untangled himself from her embrace. She gave him a meaningful smile. "Let's go get some food, I'm starving," was all she said. But Yoongi knew it had meant just as much to her as it had to him.

Hello lovelies,
How have you been. It has been a while since I updated this story, I'm sorry about that. I'm just very busy at the moment. I've been playing with the idea of writing a third part in this Yoonmin series. But I don't know if it would be too much... But once I have an idea in my head it's just kinda hard to get it out. But I don't know, I guess you'll find out at the end of this book if I talked myself out of it or not.

For now we're still in the middle of this story. There might just be one or two more quiet chapters before we start the shitshow that will end this story. Don't worry, it's gonna be a long ass shit show :)

XO Mel
