Today was the first day of the trial. It had been two weeks since he and Jimin had broken up. Monet had avoided him for a couple of days after their kiss and even though they talked it out it hadn't been the same between them

Yoongi had mostly spent his time gaming with Minsu, avoiding to talk about it all. Of course he couldn't avoid talking about it all together. Mr. Bak had immediately noticed something was going on the first therapy session after the break-up

They had talked the last few session about the pain he had caused Jimin and Monet and why he had acted that way. Mr. Bak explained that selfish behaviour was normal among people suffering from depression and childhood trauma.

Depression. It was the first time Mr. Bak had mentioned it and it had hit him harder than Yoongi had expected. It was not like he was surprised, it made sense. He had been depressed ever since he and Shin-Cho had fallen out.

He had tried to convince himself he had been healed after meeting Jimin, but deep down he had always known he had been lying to himself. Although Jimin made him feel better, at times even happy, the deeper issues that he caused him to be sick couldn't be healed by Jimin. And Yoongi didn't expect Jimin to do so.

It was hard for Yoongi to accept that how he had treated his friends and Jimin was a part of his sickness, and that he shouldn't punish himself too hard over it. Mr. Bak had encouraged him to talk about it with Monet and Jimin, but Yoongi couldn't bring himself to it. He didn't want to sound like he was making up excuses.

So the past two weeks had already been very hard as it was, but the upcoming trial hadn't made it much easier. He and Mun-Hee met a couple of times over the last two weeks, and Mun-Hee tried to prepare him for what was going to happen.

Yoongi had tried his best to listen to what he was told but all he could think about was how Jimin wouldn't be there. Through all of this Jimin had been there by his side and lifted him up whenever he couldn't see a way out anymore. But now he didn't have a choice but to do it alone.

He was in the car, sitting beside Mun-Hee who had been trying to keep a light conversation going, but Yoongi hadn't really answered any of his questions.

Today he would be giving his statement in front of the judge. He would have to tell about all the times Hyung-Woo had assaulted him. Together with Shin-Cho he had dug up some old photo's that Shin-Cho had taken of his bruises and cuts whenever he had come to his house for help.

Today it would just be his statement and that of a doctor Mun-Hee had approached. He had looked at the photo's and had examined him for traces of unhealed fractures and things like that. Anything that could make his statement more credible.

Mun-Hee and Yoongi arrived at the courthouse and walked up to big steps together. Yoongi turned around when he heard someone call his name. He saw Jin, Namjoon and Jungkook run up the stairs to catch up to him.

"What are you guys doing here?" Yoongi asked confused.

"We're here to support you of course, you didn't think we would let you go through this by yourself now, did you?" Jin said while the others bobbed their heads, backing up Jin's explanation.

"But you guys know this is a closed trial, you can't come in." Yoongi looked at his friends but didn't see the disappointed faces he expected, they all just nodded once again.

"Yeah we know, but we came to give you a little pep talk beforehand, and we'll be taking care of drinks and snacks whenever there will be a break." Jungkook said smiling.

With all the tension from the last couple of weeks, a sweet gesture like this already made Yoongi burst out in tears. For some reason he had convinced himself that losing Jimin had also meant losing his other friends, but once again he was proven wrong.

"Woah, easy there. Did we do something wrong?" Namjoon asked while he put a hand on Yoongi shoulder. Yoongi couldn't answer him through his tears, so he just shook his head. With that he felt Namjoon pulling him into a hug, and it didn't take long for Jin and Jungkook to join him.

"You got this Yoongi! Go make sure that awful man will go to jail for a long time," Namjoon told him after letting him go. Yoongi nodded and looked at his friends one more time before entering the courtroom.

The worst thing about the trail was seeing Hyung-Woo's face again. It had been following him in his dreams, but just the thought of being face to face with him again in real life sent cold shivers down his spine.

Hyung-Woo had already taken place at his table besides his lawyer. Walking up the isle, Yoongi had tried to avoid Hyung-Woo's gaze by looking at his feet. At the last moment he changed his mind, he didn't want to look scared. He didn't want Hyung-Woo to have that power over him anymore.

So he lifted his gaze, and stared Hyung-Woo right in the eyes. It didn't scare him as much as he had thought it would. It was like in his dreams, but this time he was the one in power. This time it was Hyung-Woo who wasn't able to leave.

With this in mind, giving his statement wasn't so difficult. Over the past few months he had spoken about what had happened with multiple people, and every time it seemed to get easier. The weight of his past didn't lay so heavy on his shoulders anymore, and today seemed like the last step of completely setting himself free.

The judge was very kind and patient, and Yoongi ignored all Hyung-Woo's tries to intimidate him. Jungkook hadn't lied about providing snacks and drinks, because when they took a short break after his statement the guys had been waiting outside with an amount of snacks enough for a whole week.

After the doctor had given his statement, Yoongi walked out of the courtroom feeling ten times lighter than that morning. Mun-Hee kept repeating to him how great everything had went and that today had been a huge win for them.

But Mun-Hee didn't need to tell him that, Yoongi had seen Hyung-Woo's face change during the day. The smug look on his face had vanished, and the line between his eyebrows had become bigger and bigger. Hyung-Woo was losing, and he knew it.

Hello lovelies,
Getting one step closer to defeating Hyung-Woo. I hadn't realised how much I missed writing about the other guys until this chapter. I will try to include them a little more.
