"Belle!"

I slowed down when I heard Cara calling for my name. I tightened my grip on the strap of my bag, the same habit I used to do whenever I feel anxious. Huminga muna ako nang malalim bago ko sila hinarap.

"Bakit—"

"Nakipagbreak daw sa iyo si Jayden?" tanong kaagad ni Camelia.

My lips went into a thin line. "I was the one who broke up with him." I corrected.

"What?" nanlaki ang mga mata ni Cara sa aking sinabi. Then she gripped both my shoulders and shook me. "What were you thinking? Have you gone insane, Belle?"

I gritted my teeth in silent anger. Mahinahon kong inalis ang kaniyang kamay mula sa aking balikat.

"It's for the best, Cara."

"You really are crazy. Napikot ka na ba talaga ng Alas na iyon para ipagpalit mo siya kay Jayden—"

"You were the one who said that I don't deserve Jayden, right?" I said cattily. Nawala ang bahid ng galit sa mukha ni Cara at napalitan ng pagkagulat. I placed my hands on my hips. "So, why the sudden change of mind?"

"I-I don't know what you're talking about." Anito at binalingan si Camelia. The two of them shared a knowing look.

Napasinghap ako. "I heard your conversation at the hospital's restroom on the other day." Nag-iwas ako ng tingin sa kanila. "I didn't know that you think about me that way."

Camellia chuckled nervously. "Come on, Belle! We were just joking. Ikaw naman, hindi mabiro—"

"You called me a whore, Camelia." Wika ko sa mababa ngunit matalim na boses. I glared at her. "Do you think I'm going to consider it as a joke? That's so fucked up!"

Camelia's lips went into a thin line. She clenched her fists. "Well, you really are a whore!" singhal nito sa akin. Napalingon ang ibang mga estyudante na naglalakad sa hallway. "Jayden is supposed to be mine but you stole him from me. You deserve this, you bitch!"

Bago ko pa man siya makalmot ay kaagad na may humawak sa aking kamay. It was Leon. Nakakunot ang kaniyang noo.

"What's going on?"

"Bitawan mo ako, Leon." Banta ko sa kaniya.

"Guys?" binalingan niya din si Camelia na ngayo'y umiiyak na. Hinahagod ni Cara ang kaniyang likod. "Belle?" bumaling ulit siya sa akin.

"Just let me go, goddamit!" winaksi ko ang kaniyang kamay sabay lakad palayo sa kanila. Ang mga kuryusong mata ng mga estyudante ay nakatingin pa rin sa akin. I glared at them. They quickly averted their gazes away. Mabilis akong nagtungo sa ladies room at nagkulon sa isa sa mga cubicles.

Ihinilamos ko ang aking mukha sa aking palad. I'm not going to cry here. Alas is right. They're all fake. I shouldn't deal with those guys anymore. Magagalit lamang ako nang husto sa kanila.

I jumped on my seat when I heard a yelp from someone. Then it was followed by a sharp voice of a girl.

"Ano ba, Serenity!"

I got up from my seat, irritated, only to find Serenity bullying another girl again. She grabbed her hair and pushed her face into the drum of water. Kasama niya ang dalawa nitong kaibigan na nakatingin lamang sa kaniyang ginagawa. Mas lalong sumidhi ang galit ko sa nakita.

"Stop that."

Napatingin ang dalawa sa akin. Serenity turned and glared at me. The poor girl gasped for air when she pulled her head out of the water.
