Your life was a mess.
Your friends hated you, your parents yelled at you, and everything was always going wrong.
One night in December, you decided that you had had it.
There was only one person that loved you. Your boyfriend Charlie.
You called Charlie secretly.
"Charlie, come get me. I'm running away. Everyone hates me but you. Please, you're my only hope."
"Okay, sounds like fun. I'll be waiting by your window."
"Thanks," you said before hanging up.
You grabbed your backpack and emptied out your school crap.
You put clothes, your phone and a few other special things in there.
You thought about leaving a note, but then you decided against it. If your parents wanted you back, they would have to find you and come for you.
At about midnight, Charlie came.
You climbed out of your bedroom window and into his arms.
"Here, baby. Get in the car," he said. You got into his car. It was nice and warm compared to the cold December night.
"Can we listen to music?" You asked while he was driving.
"Sure, baby. Play whatever you want."
You plugged your phone into the AUX cord and turned on your playlist.
Why Don't We Go There by One Direction came on. It seemed like the perfect song for right now.
"'Cause we got all night, we're going nowhere. Why don't you stay, why don't we go there? Let's take a ride, out in the cold air. I know the way, why don't you go there with me?" You both sang.
You laughed when you were finished.
"Charlie, will you protect me for forever?"
Niall's song Flicker came on. Wow, Spotify really did have a song for all of your moods.
"Forever, baby. As long as you love me."
The chorus started and you and Charlie sang together.
"Baby, don't ever leave me," Charlie said.
"I never will," you replied. "Never ever."
"Good."
You drove far, far away from your house.
"Thanks for driving me. I love you," you said.
"No problem. I love you, too," Charlie replied, pulling into McDonald's.
It was the perfect night.
