Meryl's POV
After a morning full of crying, I decided to go to the rink. It was Sunday so the rink was closed, it would just be me. I hadn't touched my skates in forever, it felt great to pack my bag to go to the rink.

When I arrived, I immediately sat down and put on my skates. It felt amazing to be back on the ice. Most of the time, I didn't like to be on the ice by myself, but today I wanted to be alone. I needed time to think about everything clearly.
I began to skate around the edges, slowly then faster each lap. I'd never gone this fast on the ice before. After landing a triple lutz followed by a double toe, my body began to tingle.
I could feel the blood pulsating throughout my thighs and core.
It seemed like I'd only been there for 30 minutes but really I had been there for five hours. I knew I had to go home and get some rest, I was supposed to be on bed rest for two months.

Once I got home, I went upstairs and fell fast asleep.
