Chapter 22

Stefans POV

Joe and I were catching up watching the basket ball in Elizabeth's and Sophie's apartment waiting for them to arrive home. I was hoping she was having a great time. The evening had passed pretty quick, I had my phone next to me incase she wanted a lift.

"You fancy a coffee to keep us awake" Joe laughed walking into the kitchen,

"Go on then" I called, I stood up and walked towards the window, I could hear a faint screaming sound,

"Joe" I called, "Can you hear that?" he walked into the living room,

"Hear what ?" he asked

"A scream....I'm sure....." I paused

"Sure what Stef?" Joe answered looking concerned,

"It's a woman....screaming" I pulled open the window and climbed onto the fire escape up to the roof, I could hear it much more clearer, it was a female and she was nearby, I felt myself beginning to change, my hands, I began to run as I picked up pace, leaping from each roof top, I arrived to the roof top above the screaming and looked down into the alleyway below, it was Elizabeth, I jumped and landed behind the guy that had hold of Elizabeth, I threw him against the bins, Elizabeth fell against me, I gently lay her on the ground, her pulse was faint and I could smell blood, my heart quickened as I rose to my feet I would kill him for this. the guy that had hold of Sophie had already let her go and was walking backwards away from me,

"Lizzie" I heard Sophie cry from behind me, I lunged at the guy and caught him across the face with my claws, he pissed his pants and screamed with his hands held up above his face,

"please man don't hurt me I'm sorry" I turned and glanced at the guy that was next to the bins, the one that really did hurt Elizabeth, he certainly would not get away from me. Before I knew it I was standing right next to him, I pulled him up off the ground and threw him against the brick wall at the other end of the alley, the sound of his bones cracking echoed in the alleyway, he didn't move. I quickly spun around to Elizabeth and rushed over, I could hear the ambulance sirens, I dropped to my knees, her stomach was badly cut, I kissed her head, Sophie was crying next to me.

"I'll go keep look out for the ambulance" she whispered,

"What the fuck" Joes voice called, Sophie wailed loudly. I didn't move, my head bent over Elizabeth, begging quietly for her to be ok.

"Elizabeth" I whispered "Stay with me, please baby don't leave me" I could feel the tears stinging at my eyes, suddenly for the first time I heard it, I wiped my eyes, focusing, blocking out the voices behind me, I closed my eyes and listened again, there it was......

"Excuse me sir we need to get to her she has lost an awful lot of blood" the medic said placing his equipment next to me on the floor, I carefully stood up, starring..

"Please....please help her, she's pregnant" I whispered,

"We will do everything we can sit" the medic said waving to his colleague for the stretcher.

"Please be ok Elizabeth, I love you and our baby" tears began rolling again down my cheeks....
