Jimin noticed that Taehyung was walking home alone and was dying to go and accompany him but he knew that as much as he wanted to, he couldn't. He had to stay away from Taehyung and let time heal what they both were unable to, just as he said he would do.

Sighing, he put his headphones in as he tried to disconnect himself from the world. He wanted to do as Taehyung said and make it as easy as possible for the two but deep down, he thought it was crazy. The two had finally confessed to each other yet they have to stay apart. He didn't want it to be like this.

As Jimin was walking, his friends spotted him and decided to join him. "Jimin!" Hoseok called out, as he and Yoongi headed over to the boy who hadn't heard him since he was listening to music with the volume very high. Yoongi rolled his eyes as he realised this, walking up to Jimin and smacking him across the head.

Jimin groaned in pain, taking his earphones out as he glared at his friend. "What the fuck, hyung? That hurt" He whined, Yoongi simply shrugging his shoulders. "Your fault for playing music too loud" Jimin frowned as he placed his phone and earphones into his pocket. "What do you guys want?" He grumbled.

"Hey, we haven't seen you in a long time and we want to know how you are" Hoseok replied, placing his hand on the younger's shoulder. "We're here for you, Jimin. And no matter what you do, we'll always be by your side" He added with a smile. Jimin returned the smile before letting out a sigh.

"Taehyung accidentally confessed his feelings for me" He said, surprising the two. "Really? Accidentally how?" Yoongi questioned.

"I guess he couldn't hide it anymore. He wanted to have some space for a while and I kept pushing him to tell me why we couldn't just be friends and that's when he let it slip that we couldn't because he has feelings for me and it would be too hard for him" Jimin briefly explained, his eyes only on the boy who was further ahead of them.

He was too far to hear Jimin but close enough to be seen by the boy.

"But did you tell him you have feelings for him too?" Hoseok asked, Jimin nodding his head. "I did. But he agrees with me wanting to give it time before I get into another relationship, out of respect for Jungkook. And I think that's great but I didn't think it'd mean that I'd lose Taehyung too.."

"You're not losing him. Give it some time and you'll be able to work on making him yours. It'll be hard for both of you but when time has healed what you two can't, everything will be okay" Hoseok smiled, reassuring the younger. Jimin simply nodded, smiling. "Thanks, hyung. I needed to hear that" He paused for a moment before speaking up again.

"And.. How's Jungkook doing?" He questioned, knowing that the two hung out with the younger the most. "He's doing okay. After he apologised to Taehyung and Namjoon hyung, he's slowly becoming the old Kookie we all knew and love" Yoongi said, a relief for Jimin. He was glad that Jungkook was happy and was acting like himself again, despite not being in contact with him anymore.

"You know, Jimin, you can hang out with us again. I'm pretty sure Kookie wouldn't mind and-"

"No, hyung. I don't want to do anything that might make him feel uncomfortable. He needs space for now. Don't worry about me, though. Honestly, I'm fine. Hopefully soon, we'll be on good terms but for now I'm fine" Jimin said as the three headed away from their school, changing the conversation to something lighter as they caught up with what they'd missed in each other's lives.

Once Taehyung had reached his house, he headed straight towards his bedroom, throwing his bag aside as he jumped on his bed, staring up at the ceiling above him. He was feeling bad for ignoring Jimin, especially since he could see that at times, the older had something to say to him.

However, he knew that they were only doing what was best for the two of them. Sighing, he closed his eyes, trying to think of something other than Park Jimin but it was proving to be something easier said than done.

A few moments later, his mother entered the room, raising an eyebrow at her son laying on the bed. "Tae, honey, are you okay?" She questioned. "Not really but what's up?" Taehyung replied as he sat up on his bed.

"Jimin's mother called, apparently it's his birthday on Saturday. Since you guys seem to be quite close, we've all been invited. Your father is more than happy to go since he'd like to talk business with Jimin's father. Don't tell him but I think his father will be promoted.."

Taehyung zoned out as his mother excitedly rambled on about the company's plans to promote Jimin's father since he was a trusted employee. Instead, his mind was focussing on Jimin and his birthday party.

It would be rude not to attend but it would be also very awkward for the boys if he did attend, especially since they had decided to take a break from one another.

"Taehyung-ah, did you hear that?"

The said boy snapped out of his thoughts as he stared blankly at his mother. "Sorry?"

"I said make sure that you go out and buy a present for Jimin. It should be a really nice one since it's his birthday. You're his friend so you should know what he would like. Make sure you get it before Saturday, okay?" She said with a smile before leaving his bedroom.

Taehyung heaved a sigh before he fell back on his bed once again. Now he had to attend Jimin's birthday and go out and buy him a great birthday present even though he was supposed to be forgetting about the boy for a while and clear his mind.

Not knowing what to do, he simply decided to call Namjoon. After a few rings, the silver haired boy picked up the phone.

"What can I do for you, princess?"

Taehyung rolled his eyes at that but decided to ignore it for now.

"Hyung~ Can you please coming shopping with me tomorrow and help me buy a birthday present for Jimin?"

"It's his birthday?"

"Well, on Saturday. His family invited mine to his birthday party and I need to buy a present. Will you come with me?"

"There's no need to ask, of course I will. But.. what happened to the two of you staying away from each other for a while? Won't this make it harder for you guys?"

Taehyung let out a sigh.

"It will but.. clearly the universe has other plans. I don't know what to do. I can't say no to going but if I do.. It'll just be awkward for us"

"It won't be too bad, Tae"

"It will. I need space, hyung. I really like him and I know he likes me but with this whole thing thay happened with Jungkook and what's happened with Haemin.. I just don't know what I want right now. I'm not a horrible person for wanting more time away from Jimin am I?"

"No, of course not. You need time and that's okay. And I'm sure Jimin can understand that. You've been through a lot, you need time to think things through properly. Don't worry about it too much, Tae. And if you ever need anything, I'm always here for you"

A small smile made it's way to Taehyung's lips as he heard that.

"Thank you, hyung. I love you"

"Love you too, Tae. Don't overthink things, okay?"

The younger hummed a response before saying goodbye to his friend.

He groaned as he picked up his pillow and covered his face with it. He didn't want to deal with life's problems anymore.
