The day of the party soon came and Taehyung was quite nervous. He hadn't spoken to Jimin properly in a while so this would be difficult for him. Their parents had no idea what was going on between the two so they had to act as if they were back to normal. But Taehyung hadn't a clue on how to do that. 

"Hyung, is it too late to turn around now?" Taehyung questioned as he and Namjoon slowly approached Jimin's front door. "Considering you've already confirmed you're coming, you bought a gift and you're standing on his front door step.. Yeah, I'd say it's too late to turn around" The older replied, Taehyung rolling his eyes at the reply.

Just as Taehyung was about to knock on the door, he could hear a group of loud, recognisable voices coming from behind him. "Hoseok, that's the worst gift ever" He heard Yoongi speak. Turning around, Taehyung was met with four familiar faces stood behind him.

"Hey, Tae" Hoseok smiled brightly, causing Taehyung to feel a little bit more at ease. The group had been so kind to him and it would be a lie if he said he hadn't missed them. "Hey, guys"

His eyes landed upon Jungkook who stared for a few moments before a very faint smile appeared on his lips. Taehyung was glad to see that. He really didn't want any drama to start tonight.

"So are we gonna go in, or are we just gonna stand out here tonight?" Yoongi bluntly spoke, earning a chuckle from Taehyung who proceeded to knock on the front door.

Moments later, Jimin appeared at the front door, smiling brightly upon seeing his group of friends. "I'm so glad you guys could make it. Come on in" He said, stepping aside to allow his friends to enter. His eyes met Taehyung's who smiled briefly as they entered the house.

Quite a few people were already there, mainly being Jimin's family and family friends. "You guys make yourselves comfortable, I'll be back in minute" Jimin said as he left to speak with his parents.

The group headed towards the living room, where a few people were stood talking, and took seats on some sofas and chairs that were in the back corner. "His parents are cute to throw a party like this" Taehyung commented as he glanced around the room decorated with party favours and ornaments.

"Yeah, they throw a party for him every year and invite close family and friends. It's always simple but thoughtful, just how Jimin likes it" Seokjin replied with a smile.

The group talked amongst themselves for a while, discussing whose gift Jimin would like the best before the birthday boy and his parents entered the room. "Dinner is ready, guys. Jimin, take your friends to the garden and you can dine on the patio with them. Your mother set up the table earlier for you" His father stated, Jimin doing as he was told.

They headed to the back garden, Taehyung taking a seat between Namjoon and Hoseok. Jimin was sat directly opposite him, smiling slightly as they seated themselves. "Jimin, wait until you see what Hoseok got you.." Yoongi started up a conversation about their presents, filling Jimin in on the bet that they had made earlier that Hoseok would have the worst gift.

Taehyung zoned out of the conversation, his thoughts drifting off to his relationship with Jimin. It was hard for both of them but he was growing tired of trying to avoid both Jimin and his feelings. All he wanted to do was to finally do the right thing by Jungkook and wait a while so why was it so difficult?

Dinner passed quite quickly, Jimin occasionally stealing glances at Taehyung and vice versa. However the two didn't once start a conversation, they couldn't. The group noticed this but did not comment on it, leaving the two to sort it out in their own time instead.

Seokjin and Namjoon began clearing the table whilst the others helped Jimin's parents in the kitchen with setting up the cake and presents. Taehyung and Jimin were left in the garden, silence taking over.
