-Three Weeks Later- -Present Time-

(Y/N)s POV:

After my little incident with Jeff, I ended up helping him clean his room which took a really long time. But in that time, I got to know more about Jeff and I realized that while he acts very aggressive, it might just be a sort of defense mechanism for him.

We ended up becoming fairly good friends which gave me hope that maybe I could become better friends with the others too and they'd see me as more than a 'slave'. I mean, if I got Jeff of all people to change his mind, then surely I could do the same for everyone else. I wasn't in any rush though.

I wasn't just good friends with Jeff though. Toby and I had become close as well. However, Slenderman sent him on a lot of missions so he didn't have much free time to spend with me. But today, I got lucky and Toby came home at a decent time.

I sat in bed and stared at the wall, recounting everything I had done.

"Laundry? Check. Dishes? Ummm... I mean are they ever really done? Clean Toby's spare hatchets? Check." I mentally checked off everything I completed and tried to remember if there was anything else I needed to do.

There wasn't.

After what felt like some time, I heard footsteps down the hall and fixed my posture. I had a terrible habit of slouching. A few seconds later, the door knob began to twist and I beamed in excitement. As soon as the door opened, I pounded out of bed and engulfed Toby in a hug.

"You're baaaaack!" I exclaimed, letting go and giving him some space.

In the time I've known Toby for, I have learned that he has two sides to him: a soft, childish side and a gruff, serious side. I never knew how he was feeling until i interacted with him more but I knew that giving him hugs while he was in a serious mood wasn't a good thing. Hence, why I backed away after giving him a hug. I didn't want to get chopped up any time soon.

Toby nodded his head and set his bloody hatchets by the door. I returned to my bed and sat myself criss-cross style (A/N do any of you call this something different? As a kid, I learned to call it Indian-style but I've learned that a lot of people call it criss-cross Applesauce. What do y'all call it?).

"Sooo what was your mission today?" I asked, watching as Toby removes his goggles and set them on his dresser.

"W-well we had-d to get a-a coup-ple people-le, no-nothing-g new." He began, now removing his mouth guard and setting it next to his goggles.

I nodded my head as a gesture to continue.

"B-But af-after doi-ing that-t, w-we foun-nd a hu-human-n real c-close to t-the man-mansion." He explained, plopping himself onto his bed.

"W-we kil-led him-m of c-course, an-d that-t was it-t. An-and now I'm h-here." He finished, stretching his arms out towards the ceiling.

I nodded my head to show that I heard him, but as I did so, a question popped into my mind.

"So if a human gets close to the mansion, you just go out and kill them? Don't we have some type of like extra security measure for that sort of thing? Like I don't know, some cameras or traps?" I questioned, wondering how they had managed to keep the mansion safe all this time.

"Y-Yeah. We ha-ave a spell-l." Toby replied.

"A spell?" I asked.

"Mhm. L-like mag-gic. You sh-should talk-I to Slen-ender if y-you want-t to kn-know more." Toby suggested, letting out a tired yawn.

I nodded my head and got up, leaving Toby to sleep while I went to talk to Slender. I made my way towards his office and knocked three times.

"Come in." I heard.

Opening the door gently, I walked into his office and then shut the door behind me. After that, I walked towards his desk and cautiously sat down.

"Uhm... Toby told me that there's like a spell on the mansion? That's not... that's not like a magic spell though, right?" I asked.

"Well, I suppose you could call it magic but that doesn't sound too believable. But yes, there is a spell cast on the mansion so that only those who inhabit it may see it." Slender explained.

I looked around his office a bit before speaking again.

"Are there other spells?" I questioned.

Slender nodded his head slightly.

"Yes... there are, but none of them have ever been used as long as I can remember. It's been decades, maybe longer, since I put the protection spell on the mansion. Humans used to be much less nosy, but times change and it seemed a spell was the best way to remain hidden and avoid police suspicion. I haven't had any need to use any other spells since then." Slender explained, lighting holding his chin in his hand.

"Where are the spells? Can I see them?" I asked.

If I'm honest, there really wasn't much for me to do besides cleaning or cooking. I spent a lot of time suffering from boredom so not only did I want to see these spells because, well I mean, they're spells, but it was also because I needed a cure for boredom.

Slender must have read my mind.

"I am not sure that it would be wise if you to study these spells. However, I will allow you access to the library and you may read any of those books if you'd like." He offered, pushing his chair away from the desk and standing up.

He then led me outside of his office and down the hall a little ways. He stopped in front of a shelf that was built into the wall.

It didn't have much on it, except for a couple of dusty books, but I thought it was cool because it was like one big bookshelf that spanned from the floor to the ceiling and fit perfectly into a small nook in the wall.

Slender reached towards a stack of three books and moved the top two to the side. Then he opened the bottom book to reveal that it wasn't actually a book at all.

It was hollow on the inside.

And inside the book was a tiny button, which Slenderman presses gently before taking a step back.

I heard a few clicks before the bookshelf retreated into the wall a few inches and then moved to the left.

"Woah... that's some spy movie stuff right there." I whispered, watching the shelf in awe.

I was even more surprised by what was beyond the shelf though.

I published the last chapter one day ago so I'll most likely wait to publish this one. In the mean time, I'm going to try and write some more chapters so I can update more than once a month lol.

Thank you everyone for your support of this story!!! I never thought that any of my stories would receive any attention and now here I am, with three 'hit' stories. Or at least, I'll call them 'hit' but to me that just means I'm getting more than like ten reads a chapter XD

I hope you all have a good day!

Until next time~
