Chapter 6

I woke up in a bed with a piercing headache. I looked around and saw Bucky sitting on a chair next to the bed with his head in his hands

"W-what happened"
I whispered

Buckys head instantly shot up and a sigh of relief left his mouth

"You got distracted and got hit in the head with the beam, but you're going to be okay"

I slowly nodded
"How long have I been out?"

"Only a couple of hours... and by the way, what distracted you in the first place?"

I sighed heavily as I remembered what had happened
"Tony... he's the reason I was upset this morning, I overheard him talking about me last night, and he brought up my parents. And when I was doing the test he was saying I wasn't good enough and that I'm useless and I guess it really made me angry"

Before Bucky could reply there was a knock at the door and Bruce walked in
"Ah Y/N you're awake"

I gave him a weak smile and a nod

"Listen I'm so so sorry, I didn't mean for that to happen and I should of been more careful with the design of the test"

"It's okay Bruce, really, I should of been more focused"

"Um Y/N, what are you doing"

Bucky interrupted the conversation

"What?"

He pointed to my hands and I looked down to see that they were glowing blue, the same colour of my powers
"I'm not doing this"

"Bruce what is happening"
Bucky asked obviously really confused

"I don't know, Y/N try your best to stop it"

I tried my hardest but nothing worked, my hands wouldn't go back to normal
"I can't do it"

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain through my head
I held my hands up to my head as I screamed in agony

"Y/N!"
Bucky shouted as he ran over to my side instantly.

Bruce doing the same as he tried to figure out what was going on.

After the pain subsided I lifted my head up and tried to slow my breathing, I noticed my hands had stopped glowing.

"What the hell is going on Bruce"

"I think the collision with the beam might of had an affect on Y/N's powers, that would explain the glowing hands, but I'm not sure why that happened"

"Are you okay?"
Bucky asked me, worry in his voice

"Yeah yeah I'll be okay"

Bruce looked over to us
"We need to talk to everyone"

All the Avengers had been called to the meeting room, some were standing and some where sitting at the long table, i was sitting at the table since it was still a bit hard to walk or stand, Bucky standing behind me with his hands resting on the top of my chair. Bruce had just informed everyone of what had happened.

"That's crazy"
Natasha whispered to herself

"Did the hand glowing thing hurt?"
Clint asked me

"No it didn't"
I replied
"So basically what your saying Bruce is
Y/N's powers don't work anymore which means she doesn't need to be here anymore" Tony chimed in

"What? No I'm saying her powers have gone crazy"

"Exactly, so she serves no purpose to us anymore, We don't need her, she can leave"

I could feel Bucky's grip on my chair tighten.

"Tony, Y/N is an avenger now, we aren't just going to kick her out"
Steve reasoned

"Why am I the only one who thinks she is useless! She doesn't belong here!"
Tony shouted as he stormed out of the room.
I could feel tears forming in my eyes but I quickly blinked them away before anyone could notice. But Bucky did, he put a hand on my shoulder.

Natasha walked up to me,
"I'm sorry about him... Stark is... well he's a dick sometimes, you'll get used to it"
She gave me a warm smile and walked out of the room. Everyone else did too, except Bucky.

"Y/N..."

"It's okay, I'm okay"
I slowly got up and walked out, trying not to go to fast so I wouldn't make myself dizzy since I was still weak. I got up to our room and went into the bathroom. I examined my hands, they were starting to glow again,

"Oh no"

Suddenly I felt the same sharp pain in my head as I did before. I bit on my tongue to stop myself from screaming. After it had stopped I looked at my hands, once again the glowing had stopped.
What is happening to me.
