"say, you didn't tell me where you live." yoongi broke the silence as the car reached a red light. "you seriously don't know?" jihyo asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice."how would i know if we just met?" he chuckled once again, and realization hit jihyo hard. oh. right. he doesn't remember anything. "sorry." it was all jihyo said before telling yoongi her address.
the atmosphere got really tense again, the once red light turned to green, and the car had started moving again. jihyo couldn't wait to get off the car immediately once they arrived.
the only sound interrupting the silence was the radio, although it's barely heard. jihyo thinks of it as a distraction, humming along to the songs being played.
thankfully, jihyo's place was only a few blocks away. this calmed her nerves down, she didn't know she was this nervous.
"turn right and that's my house." she stated, preparing to get out of this car fast. the car slowed down and eventually stopped. jihyo muttered a quick 'thank you' before attempting to dash outside.
it was a failed attempt, sadly.
she was pulled back into her seat before even getting out fully. the sudden action caused her to gasp, hurriedly looking at the culprit with wide eyes.
"what did you say? i kinda didn't hear it." yoongi was pretty much teasing her, flashing an innocent smile as he waited for jihyo to respond.
jihyo's voice failed to function. her throat turned dry, and her mouth was left agape. confusion was still written on her face, and maybe a bit of panic.
"t-thank you." her voice faltered. she hates herself for being so weak just being infront of him. she noticed how close the two were, and tried to look away to not get more flustered.
he eventually let go of her, jihyo could not imagine if he held her longer, she'd probably melt to a puddle. she went out of the car (this time, it was successful), bowing to him for the last time, before going towards her house.
jihyo opened the door to her house, closing the door slowly. her back leaned against it, and she let out a long sigh.
after changing to much comfortable clothing, she slumped her body on her bed, recalling the events that had happened throughout the day.
im nayeon.
hurriedly grabbing the phone, she dialed nayeon's number, who accepted the call after a few rings.
—
jihyo~ how's my bestfriend's first day in work?
it's fine... except for the fact that he doesn't remember me?
how on earth would he forget you after all he did?
... i don't know.
are you sure he wasn't pretending?
pretty much. he really doesn't know anything.
hey, i don't really want you to be upset over such thing, wouldn't that be better? he won't interfere with your life again.
well, i guess you could say that...
jisoo...
i told you to stop calling me jisoo!
well i won't and will never stop! i could see you still have something for him. you can't run away forever. what if he really was just pretending.
hey, i told you already, he really does not remember anything.
...okay then, i'll ask jeongyeon. you should rest up, tomorrow is another day.
alright, good night.
good night, jisoo.—
jihyo groaned as nayeon hanged up. she placed her phone on the table beside her bed, and returned to laying down. she pondered for awhile, not bothering herself to eat dinner.
what she was feeling right now? she doesn't really know. should she be happy, sad, or even angry? jihyo has no clue. the whole day has been a rollercoaster of emotions, and it confused jihyo more.
"i don't even have the courage to talk to you." she grumbled, snuggling closer to her pillow. she remembered all the stuttering earlier, and she might have wanted to bang her head on the wall for being such an idiot.
her thoughts were cut off by the sound of a notification coming from jihyo's phone. "it must be nayeon..." she said, before reaching for the gadget.
the message displayed made her eyes widen. it was from an unknown number, but jihyo could absolutely tell who it is. "hello. this is yoongi. you must be eating right now, eat well and rest up. tch, as if i had the appetite to eat right now." jihyo scoffed as she read through the text.
would she be rude if she won't give him a reply? he must've been expecting one, and if jihyo were to not give him anything, it might lead her to trouble.
"yes, i will. you too, sir :)." message sent. she hurriedly clicked the send button before she could even regret it. jihyo's really embarrassed of herself at this point.
the girl got up from her bed, stretching her arms and making her way to the bathroom. a warm shower would fix all of this.
she sighed as the warm water came in contact with her skin. it felt like all the stress from today were washed away. jihyo stayed in the shower longer than what she had planned to, but times like this would only happen once in a blue moon.
after a few songs, jihyo had finally got out of the shower, very fresh and contented. her hair flowed down, little drops of water still dripping.
she walked towards the mirror, aiming to blowdry her hair, but she was too deep in thought to do so. jihyo bit her lip, putting the equipment down.
"is it really that easy for him to forget everything that happened?" she sighed, tears threatening to come out. just a few moments ago, she feels very happy, what's with the sudden mood swing now?
"i guess i really am easy to forget." jihyo forced out a small smile, before making her way outside of the bathroom. she laid on her bed, unbothered on the fact that her hair is still wet, she could change the covers later.
soon enough, she was able to clear her mind, deciding that the other thoughts should be saved for another day. she sighed, letting the sleepiness get to her. and eventually, her body gave in, eyes slowly closing and breathing becoming even.
