they say change might be necessary at certain circumstances. so jihyo entered the company building with her newly-cut hair, what once was long and wavy turned into a length that is just above her shoulders.
today, she's expected to talk to her boss, now that she's , apparently, his secretary now. this still is hard for jihyo to absorb, but she'll have to get used to it somehow.
she wanted to have little to no exposure with the other employees, but the moment she entered the building all pairs of eyes were on her, effectively making her bow down in embarrassment.
soon enough, the reporters who were eagerly waiting at the lobby caught on and started running towards her, creating chaos at the company.
'are you the girl in the photo?'
'what is your name?'
'do you have any relationship with the ceo?'a lot of questions were thrown at her in an instant. the flash of the cameras blinded jihyo, and the mics that were continuously being pushed towards her weren't of help either.
"i- uhm..." jihyo couldn't think straight right now. it was too late for her to escape too, she was already surrounded by a lot of reporters.
jihyo unfortunately didn't have lady luck by her side today. she has tried to pry away from the crowd, but was only thrown back to the center. they were a lot stronger than her after all.
as the reporters tried to force answers out of jihyo, she was panicking, trying to find a way to stop this. jihyo did not like this much attention, it made her very uncomfortable. "p-please stop..." she whispered, the blinding camera flashes eventually bringing tears to her eyes.
"please..."
before anyone could ask a question again, a quite tall man barged in the circle, shielding jihyo from the media. "stop this nonsense." he commanded, effectively making the reporters and even the cameras stop.
jihyo could not get a clear view of his face, but his backside seemed very familiar, not to mention his voice too. the girl squinted as her eyes were still blinded at the amount of flash that had reached her, and it was making her have a hard time of figuring out who the man is.
he slowly turned back, and now jihyo was able to get a clear view. "hey, long time no see, jisoo." it's him! "oh! jaebum-ssi..." jihyo was taken aback. who knew she'd meet her bestfriend since her freshman year in college.
the two just stared at each other, until they heard someone talking. "why are you causing a commotion inside the building?" a furious yoongi entered the scene, looking quite annoyed at the media. "please leave." and with that simple phrase, everyone rushed towards the exit.
he hurriedly looked over to where jihyo was, who still was a bit shaken up. yoongi then glanced at the man standing next to her, checking if she was alright. it looked like they knew each other, and it set an uneasy feeling inside yoongi's stomach.
yoongi was about to speak up when that man beat him to it. "jihyo! are you alright?" the said man asked, shaking jihyo lightly for her to come back to her senses.
she blinked once. twice. and met the man's (which jihyo claims is jaebum) eyes. "jb? is that really you?" jihyo asked, not even answering his question.
"the one and only." jaebum grinned. "didn't i tell you that i work here?" he followed, but jihyo shook her head. "i don't remember. last time i've seen you was when you graduated in college, and you left me all alone there!" she grumbled, earning a small laugh from the boy.
"come here, i'm missing my college bestfriend." jaebum spread his arms out, inviting jihyo for a hug to which the girl happily took.
unknown to them, the building's ceo just watched the two interact. he doesn't know how to feel, and it's making his insides weird. his face scrunched as he tries to find out what kind of sensation he was currently feeling.
the sight continues to irk him to the point that he couldn't stand it anymore, so with a clear of his throat, the two were easily detatched from each other.
"oh- i'm sorry- i- urhm..." jihyo visibly panicked, not being able to complete her sentence. the girl chewed her lip as she bowed down.
"you and i need to talk. it's regarding the rumors." yoongi said, not even minding the presence of the other guy. he wasted no time and turned back, heading towards the elevator.
jihyo then rose up, sighing heavily. "well, i'll catch you later alright?" she faced jb, who just smiled at her as he messed with her hair. "sure. you should go, wouldn't want him to get angrier." he laughed, and let jihyo catch up to their boss.

a ride in the elevator has never been this long for jihyo. it felt like she was already stuck for hours in there, but truth be told, it was only for a few minutes.
"you had your hair cut?" he suddenly asked, breaking the quiet atmosphere. "uhh, yeah. thought they wouldn't recognize me but they actually did, even though my face wasn't really shown." jihyo let out an awkward laugh.
"does it look fine though?" she added, trying to lighten the mood. yoongi stared at jihyo to the point that it made her shy, causing her to look away. "it does. you always look pretty anyway." he replied, in time with the opening of the elevator's door. yoongi immediately went out, leaving a very red jihyo.
"god... the things you do to me..." jihyo hurriedly collected herself and hurried over to her boss. how does he do things to her without even making an effort? jihyo doesn't know. he casually said that and just left fhe girl alone!
yoongi led her to an empty conference room, which she assumed was where he'd talk to her. jihyo had never been to this room, and it amazed her how huge it was.
"like what you're seeing?" he asked, and jihyo just nodded in awe. "well, you're about to spend most of your time here." yoongi sat at a chair, whilst jihyo just stood at a corner, too shy to move anywhere.
"sit down park jihyo, we have a lot to talk about."
