I walked in the new school hallway and made my way towards the locker. My locker was towards the english hallway.

I went to my locker and opened it. I took out my books from the bag and put it in the locker. I pulled away the thin jacket and put it on the locker as well.

As I was about the take out my time table, I felt a tap on my arm. I looked to my side and saw a girl, wearing a jeens and long sleeve top with a cardigan. Her hair was short and straight, went till her neck.

"Hello," she smiled. "Are you the new student here?"

I nodded, adjusting my glasses.

"I am Emily," she smiled. "Nice to meet you."

I nodded. I wasn't good with making friends. But, she looked friendly.

"I am Yumna," I said to her.

She smiled. "I like your glasses, Yumna. You look cute."

I smiled at her. "T-t-thank you, Emily," I told her.

I wasn't used to with getting compliments.

"Can I see your time table?" she asked, leaning near my locker. "Actually today is the first day of the new term and I don't want to go to my class alone."

I nodded.

I took out my time table and showed her that.

She took a look and nodded. A smile formed on her lips.

"We have English and Drama together," she smiled. "You have a lot of business courses."

I smiled. "I do. I heard that my dad was a businessman so I want to be a businesswoman someday. Like him."

Emily smiled. "He was a good man," she said softly.

I looked at her confusingly.

What did she meant by that?

She noticed me looking at her confusingly and quickly changed her words. "I mean, he must be a good man."

I nodded. He probably was. I couldn't remember him, but grandma told me that dad had many companies and he would give zakat as well as extra donations to different orphanages.

We heard the bell rang.

"Oh, come on," she said as she took my hand on her and began to drag me towards the English class.

She dragged me to the class and we both went inside the class. The classroom was huge, filled with atleast 30 to 35 students.

We took the front seats.

The teacher came to the class, holding a bunch of books including a few novels and Shakespeare plays.

"Good morning, students," the teacher said. "I am Mr. Lam and I will be your English teacher."
