My eyes widened in shock.

"It was my fault. I felt like I have made a mistake in asking grandma. She was the eyewitness in Radi's crime. She was the one who told mom about everything. Maybe if grandma didn't tell me or mom about this she would be still here . . ."

"Do you think my uncle was involved in it?" I asked.

He nodded. "I am damn sure. Grandma is not that careless to turn on stove something that would let the house be on fire. Radi wanted to whip my evidence against him and grandma was the eyewitness in his crimes. The house was was fire and . . . I never saw grandma after that."

I didn't say anything. I knew how painful it was for him to talk about his grandma.

"I couldn't contact you or grandma Momoh. However, after your sense came back and you lost your memory, Radi let you be alive because he knew you wouldn't cause him any harm since you didn't remember anything about it," he said. "We did not meet each other until middle school."

I looked at him, confusingly. "We met in middle school?" I asked.

Omar nodded. "We did. We were in the same high school but you, being a shy nerdy girl, you just used to stay alone and I just used to skip school most of the time and got transferred to different schools so we never talked in middle school. I did notice you but since you couldn't remember anything or me, you didn't even notice me."

I nod my head in understanding.

"Later when we moved to high school, I saw you there. That's when I began to develop an attachment towards you. I saw you growing, Yumna. I saw how you began to come out of your shell and began to be confident," he said as he looked at me. "That day that we fought on the first day of high school, I saw another side of you. Nobody even tried to fight with me, especially in high school but you fought with me and since then, I began to find an attachment towards you."

"Is that why you married me?" I whispered.

Omar chuckled. "I don't know, to be honest. But I did saw and even heard that you were getting abused by Radi. I hated the fact that he even dared to raised hands on you so I told mom and dad. My parents felt a debt to your parents and when they heard that you were getting abused, they wanted to save you so that they can at least keep their daughter safe. And, well, right after that, we arranged our wedding so that you can get out of that house and live with us, safely."

I didn't say anything.

So, Omar just married me because he and his family could feel less dept to my parents. It made me a little disappointed that he didn't feel any emotional attachments towards me when he married me.

"I hope I answered all your questions," Omar said.

I nodded.

Omar wanted to say more but suddenly his phone rang. He sighed and took out his phone from his pocket and got off the sofa. He walked out of the room as he received his phone and began to speak.

I sighed as I leaned on the sofa. My tears were dried but I still felt hurt. It was like all my past was just revealed to me just in a few minutes. It was so much to take in at a moment.

I just couldn't believe that my own parents were killed because of my uncle and aunt. Heck, I didn't even know that he was involved in drug dealing! I didn't even know that uncle was married.

I closed my eyes and let all the information sink in my brain. Suddenly, I remembered the phone call I did to grandma last time.

That time, I heard a female voice. And then . . .

I remembered the time when mom was talking to dad about a woman getting released from jail. She was worried about us.

Something clicked on my mind.

Omar told me that my aunt was sent to the prison so does that mean that she was now released from jail?

My eyes widened.

I felt panicked. That meant that my aunt was still here and now that she was with uncle, who knew what they were planning. Grandma was living in that house as well. I wasn't even sure if grandma was okay. But, why didn't she tell me anything about it?

I just didn't understand anything at all.

Assalamualikum and hello!

How are you?

I am really sorry for not updating for so long. I was busy with my university and work. But I did a triple update so hopefully, that makes up for it.

Thanks a lot and have a nice day!

Love,
Ella
