The next couple of weeks came and went, for Kayla, in what seemed to be a blur.  In the midst of worrying about whether or not she was pregnant, along with fulfilling Natalie's constant requests regarding the wedding and making sure everyone had attended their final fittings, she let studying slip through the cracks.  She found herself days away from her final exams, panicking at the lack of studying she'd gotten done.

"Knock knock."

Kayla turned to the open doorway from the desk she was sitting at in their home office.

"Hey Tay," she said as she removed her glasses and turned the chair in his direction.  He walked in and leaned his body on the desk, crossing his arms in front of him.

"How's it going?" he asked.

"It's going.  I'm mainly just outlining what I have to go over and trying to organize everything.  I need to get some sleep tonight so I can have you at the airport on time so I don't want to get in too deep tonight.  Once I've got you in the air safe and sound then I can concentrate on this and only this," she said.  She looked exhausted.

"Thank you so much for everything, Kayla.  I know that helping out has been a lot for you but you have no idea how grateful Natalie and I are to you.  We are forever in your debt," he replied.  She could see there was more that he was holding in.

"Of course Tay.  You're my best friend.  I'd do anything in my power to help.  Always," she replied.  They sat in silence for a few seconds before she spoke up, "What?" she finally asked.

"Have you found anything out?"

Kayla sighed.  She knew the subject would come up eventually and with Taylor leaving for Georgia the following morning, she knew this would be the last time they'd have a chance to talk about it before he was caught up in a week long wedding schedule with Natalie.

"No.  I meant to call and make an appointment after we talked but things just go so busy out of nowhere then for a few days I kinda forgot about it, but I have an appointment set now," she finally answered.

"When?" Taylor asked, shifting his weight nervously.

"Next Friday.  After my finals.  Everyone leaves on Thursday afternoon and since I have to stay behind for finals anyway I figured it'd be a perfect time to make the appointment."  She lowered her head.

"So you're not gonna tell him yet?" Taylor asked.

Kayla shook her head, slightly, "Not yet.  I just want to know first.  I want a minute to think about it alone before I have to brace myself for the reaction.  Not just Zac's, but everyone's, once it's out, you know?  I know you probably don't agree it's just, I'm scared, and I have a weird feeling and I just kinda wanna take a minute and do this alone before I have to deal with everyone else."

Taylor was quiet for a few seconds before speaking up, "I get it, Kayla.  Completely.  It's your choice and I already told you I support whatever way you want to go about doing this.  Just remember, we're here.  I'm always gonna be here no matter what."

"Thanks," she said.  She turned her head to the pile of books on the desk, "I have to finish putting all this stuff together before it gets too late.  I'll see you in the morning."

"Okay, goodnight Kayla," Taylor replied as he made his way to the door.

"Night Tay," she replied as she slipped her glasses back on and went back to making notes in her binder.

Taylor closed the door as he stepped out of the office and made his way towards the living room of their home.  He sat in his chair and stared at the sun setting outside.  He still had a week before he'd be married, but he knew this would be the last night before his entire life started to change.  He watched the sun setting for a few more minutes before getting up and walking to his bedroom.  He grabbed his phone from the nightstand and opened it up to find a picture message from Natalie with some mock ups for their rehearsal dinner.  It was more out of politeness that she'd shared them, she knew just as well as Taylor did that she had the final say so.  He fired off a text acknowledging the arrangements and advising her that he was sure he'd love which ever one she picked before drafting a new message to his brothers.
