Minutes pass slowly, the silence nearly consuming the boys. " Coming thru the woods probably saved us over an hour," someone mutters. Dylan moves beside Gordie, the rest in the back following behind, as if the two are contaminated.
Gordie places his arm up, forcing everyone to stop behind him. He takes a heavy breath before speaking. " Teddy?"
" Yeah?"
" This the Back Harlow Road?"
" Yeah."
Chris moves in front of Gordie. " Brower-kid must be 'round someplace here. Teddy. You, Vern and Dylan, look on the left side to the track. We'll take the right," he states before walking to his side of the track. The guys agree with a small 'yeah' as Dylan gives a soft nod. He walks behind the guys; Teddy in front with Vern in between the two.
Dylan sees something shiny in his peripheral vision, turning his head to see. His breath gets stuck in his throat, feet becoming concrete as his hands change in a similar fashion. Gordie looks behind him, seeing Dylan frozen in one spot, making him stop, others following. No words leave the blond's lips. It takes all his energy to lift his arm up, pointing his finger at what he saw.
