I didn't see Hermione for the rest of the day, or during breakfast the morning of the task, and it was really worrying me. At breakfast, I sat by Harry, and we talked about the task.

"I'm pretty sure it's in the lake." He was saying to me.

I laughed. "Yes it is Harry. There are mer- umm actually, you'll just see what it is when we get there. Hermione and I figured it out a while back and I've been preparing. You'll most likely do great, depending on how well you can swim. But speaking of Hermione, have you seen her at all lately? Dumbledore asked for her yesterday, and I haven't seen her since." I said to Harry.

"No, and I haven't seen Ron either. Maybe they are together?" Harry suggested, laughing.

"Yeah, that could be it." I laughed, getting a pang of jealousy. "Well, I'm going to go get ready for the task. I'd suggest you do the same, but I'm sure you'll be fine even if you don't." I walked off to my room, changing into lighter clothing, and making sure that I had my wand, then made my way back to the Great Hall.

The champions went with Dumbledore, and all the students left to watch us. Dumbledore then told us what the task was, and took us to the lake. The students were already in their areas, ready to watch the champions. The four of us walked into the lake with our clothes and water breathing tool we used, then set off to look for our most important thing.

I've never been a slow swimmer, and I wasn't now either, although some other champions are faster than me. I kept getting deeper and deeper in the water, and then I saw a kelp forest, and decided to swim at least 10 feet above it. You never know what creatures could be hiding in there, and I decided not to try and provoke them. I passed the forest with no encounters, and saw what looked like people just floating ahead of me. Upon further investigation, I noticed that most of them had tails, but there were 4 people tied up and floating. They all looked unconscious, which I was very glad for.  I swam closer to them, and noticed one of them was Hermione. There was also Ron Weasley, some girl with blonde hair, and some student from Durmstrang.

I swam over to Hermione, and tried to wiggle the rope around her, but it wouldn't budge.  I looked around in the water, although I couldn't see very far, and then swam to the very bottom.  There were a few different creatures moving along the bottom, but I just left them be, looking for something sharp to cut the rope with. There was a rock that was pretty sharp, so I grabbed it and swam back to Hermione and cut the rope. Once she was free of all rope, I set the rock at the bottom below Ron. Since I didn't help Harry figure out the task, I could surely help him here.

Hermione was still unconscious, but was slowly floating up, so I grabbed on to her arm, and swam with her up to the surface. We were almost in the middle of the lake, and there were people waiting for us at the bank, where we came into the water from. I swam slowly towards the people, dragging Hermione behind me, and the bubble around my head popped.

"And Miss Y/L/N is the first to come out of the water with her champion. No, Miss Y/L/N, you come up here." The announcer was saying, although I could barely hear him.

I turned around, and swam to the middle of the 3 pillars, which was where I was supposed to go. I didn't even see my score, because I was too busy asking people what would happen to Hermione.  Dumbledore told me that she would be waking up any minute, so I just sat and waited. Right as Hermione was waking up, Fleur came above the water and swam to us, but she didn't have her person with her.  She started freaking out and bawling, asking what would happen to her sister.

"Are you alright Hermione?"  She started coughing up a little water.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Can I ask you something?"  She said.

"Yeah, of course. Can I tell you something first?"  She nodded her head, and we walked toward the edge of the landing, because there were less people. "I like you Hermione. I've liked you since I first met you, and I really like you now. Please don't freak out."

Her eyes widened a bit, and her cheeks became a light shade of pink.  "I um.. I like you too Y/N. I was going to ask you if you would like to go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend?"

I smiled. "I'd love to 'Mione."

Viktor Krum breached the water and swam towards us, but he did not look happy after he noticed the two champions already up here. He probably thought he would be in first place. He didn't even make it up o the surface in the one hour we had, he was about 5 minutes late. Hermione and I sat down on the edge with towels around our bodies, and our hands intertwined, waiting for Harry. It had been an hour and 10 minutes, and Hermione and I are starting to get worried.

She got up and walked to Dumbledore. "Shouldn't we see if we can find him? The hour had passed, something could be really wrong. What if he-" Hermione would have continued if Dumbledore didn't interrupt her.

"Hermione, I'm sure Harry will be fine. He knows how to take care of himself. Now why don't you sit down. We'll go in to look for him if he doesn't make it back in the next 20 minutes." Dumbledore said to her.

She came back and sat next to me. I grabbed her hand and intertwined  our fingers again, squeezing it. She looked at me with worry in her eyes, but I just kissed her cheek. "It'll be okay 'Mione. Harry will be fine. I know it."

Her cheeks were a light pink because of the kiss, but she smiled and leaned her head on my shoulder.  About a minute later, Harry breached the water with Ron and Flyers sister. Fleur started crying harder and stood up, pacing back and forth fastly. Harry was struggling really bad with both champions, and could barely move forward in the water. He was too busy trying to stay above water, and he kept going down in the water for longer and longer amount of time.

I shot up from my spot on the edge. "He's going to drown! Someone needs to go save him!" Ron, Harry, and Hermione were my best friends, and we all cared deeply for one another. Right now, two of them had a chance of drowning, and I was freaking out.

I looked around, and everyone was just staring at me, and not moving.

"Oh for heavens sake!" I looked at Dumbledore.  "I'm going in there since no one else will."

I ran off the landing and dived into the lake, swimming to the last place I saw Harry. Ron and Fleur's sister were floating there, but Harry was no where to be seen. I put the bubble around my head again swam under the water. Harry was sinking toward the bottom of the lake, and he looked unconscious. I swam down and pulled him up to the surface.

Once I breached the surface again, I used a spell to make a rope connecting the 3 unconscious people begin my to my foot, and started swimming to the middle pillar again. It was slower this time, since I didn't use my legs.

All three people were pulled up onto the landing before me, and I pulled myself up. Fleur immediately came over to me and wrapped me in a big hug.

"Thank you so much for saving my sister!" She kissed my cheek then ran over to her sister.

Hermione came up to me and wrapped me in a hug as well. Once she pulled away, she placed a long and passionate kiss on my lips. "Thank you. You truly are a hero."

Yknow, I'm not sure what this ending is... I just tried to finish it because it was almost 1400 words. Hope this was worth's the wait, and I really liked writing it.
