Alexis' pov:

After running for a good while at a normal humans speed I was getting bored, working on convincing myself to not just zip around again, this is so slow.

I didn't want to use my speed since that's what got my shot after I startled a man and another reason was because I was close enough to the human town to maybe be caught when I accidentally met someone..... That was not happening with me, and not only humans were the possible trouble, somethings having smelled my blood or see me near their territory maybe.

I heard leaves crunching before a cold one appeared in front of me and slammed his palm onto my upper chest, sending me flying backwards.

I flipped myself in the air so the rock facade was met with my feet first instead of my back, the shock was so great a loud crack of the stone echoed around us as it fissures under my feet from the impact.

I looked up with a glare and pushed off wall faster then gravity could gotten a hold on me, flying of the wall and knocking the man down with my body, arm pressed down over his throat as his red eyes bore into mine, he was almost out of control.

I pressed quickly trapped his hands under my knees before he could try to scratch or hurt me in any other way with them.

"You need to calm down." I said in a deeper voice, I didn't change mine on purpose it was just something that came out as an ability of mine, no wolf no matter their rank could disobey me, it worked on cold ones too and made the humans back off because of fear so basically an all rounded alpha voice if you will. I was part of the species that both evolved from so it isn't a surprise that it works on both and humans just know by instinct to not mess with me.

He slowly stopped fighting my hold, my voice forcing him to calm down as a command.

"you are a new-born, it is not unusual for someone like you to not be able to control themselves around blood and much less around my blood... Close your eyes and take a moment to empty your mind of any thought." I softly said, a new-born cold one will have a hard time controlling themselves for the first few year of their lives and normally the coven leader, the cold one equivalent to an alpha for wolves, would teach and guide them in a way that can be compared to what I am trying to do, trying to calm and pacify the cold one for them to look past their blood lust. "Think of the blue sky, the clouds, listen to the songs of the birds, you will not hurt me got it?"

I looked around as I heard a few other cold one zipped over and stopped a few meters away from me, forming a circles and some baring their teeth but I looked back to the one under me.

"You see your coven came to help, you will be fine, they know your struggle, all of them were new-borns at a time, as time goes on it will be easier to control and I repeat you will not hurt me." I slowly got up and backed away as he looked so shocked and lost as he looked at his coven and stood up too before facing me again.

"Thank you." I wouldn't have heard it if my hearing wasn't cold one-like.

"You just needed help, glad I could.... Tell Hans an old friend is back in town, he'll know how you are talking about..... And you, bring him to hunt, he is hungry." I said before zipping away between them and using my magic to make my presence fade away from their minds, keeping them from chasing after me.

You see nowadays only cold ones can have magic or 'gifts' as they are now called, some powers that come with becoming one of them, all my people had that and since I am one I do too, cold ones just evolved in a way to keep having gifts I call still call magic sometimes while wolves didn't and just kept the ability to shift into a different form, I tried to always adapt to the times I live in but some of my speech and mannerisms never left me from older times.

I smiled as I ran, I could smell Hans turned all of them, it would be good seeing him again.

He was once a human boy in the 1700s who's village was devastated by cold ones, leaving him alive because he was out in the woods, running off because he was angry at his father, only being six at the time, I came by the town and him a little while later that happened and just couldn't leave him there to die so you could say I raised this kid.

At Twenty he wanted to join me in immortality and we got in a heated argument, he ran off like he did the day his village was decimated, I was so broken as I couldn't find him and thought I lost him forever.

It took me a whole century to meet up with him again as a twenty-four year old looking vampire, we made up but went our own ways, him having started a coven and me on my way around the world..... So this will be the first time in two hundred years that we've meet again.

A word about my gift, I could erase my presence in someone's mind but unfortunately I must hold eye contact for three seconds, a millennium ago it was five so I got better, after I erase my presence I'm like invisible in their eyes and they remember nothing about how I look, humans forget everything unlike the 'supernatural' who only forget my looks and don't see me since they are technically of my blood even if evolution separates us greatly, this gift helped me when I wanted to settle down for a little while before making everyone forget and running off again so that they didn't need to be sad that I was leaving and wouldn't try to find me to visit.

I was still mad deep inside despite not wanting too be, mad at Hans to have asked me to change him, I wanted him to live a normal life and die as a human, if I change someone it's not your usual change.

If I bite a human to change them they will become fast, strong, immortal and maybe be able change into a wolf if there is enough venom pumped into their blood, if not they will be able to drink blood, they will be much less strong then me, becoming a subspecies to mine in a way and not a pure blooded one like me since you need to be born like me to be a pure blood.

If I bite a vampire their strength will grow and will get better hearing.

If I bite a wolf they will get fast and immortal.

In all three case they become the subspecies, having a few things like I do but nothing to my level as I was born this way.

Also the change was painful and might drive someone insane which is also in the reasons why I didn't want to change him. 

I tried once long ago, my people had already died out and had no idea I'd have a mate much later.... I had chosen a human lover, our union was fast accepted as even then I was one of the best choices, unfortunately our one and only offspring didn't leave past it's first week of life and we decided if he was that subspecies maybe a next baby would live...... I lost him too, not making it through the change, if I didn't know better it was like his heart was literally crushing itself in his chest, the chest making a jerking movement towards the inside before it never rose again... I'd like to say I moved past the pain of his loss but I am still saddened by it even if I am grateful to have met him.... If you get me.

All this talk of the past brought up my 'real' name in my mind, it was Hala but as times changed so did language, it evolved too which lead Hala to be to Alexis, so technically it is still my real name just according to the language these days.

I sighed as I stopped running and walked normally as the town was finally here in view, a smirk graced my lips, mate here I come.
