CHAPTER NUMBER THIRTEEN OF:
REWRITE THE STARS

THE NEWS SPREAD LIKE wildfire, so quickly it scared Rosalie. As they walked to lunch, Rosalie and Ben let out a deep breath before walking over to the Descendants' table. Rosalie knew she wasn't on best terms with Jay, but if she didn't clear the air now that they were all going through a rough time then she would be a horrible person. He needed her and she knew it. In fact, she needed him as well, maybe even more. Ben stood behind Mal, holding her shoulders. "Hey, guys. How is everyone? Yeah? Hey, listen. Forget about it. All right? It was nothing. Forget about it. Let it go. Tomorrow, after the coronation, I promise everything will be okay. I have to go. I'll see you guys later." Ben promised before walking away.

"Jay." Jay's head perked up at the sweet sound of Rosalie's voice saying his name again. Even if it was in a sad tone, she had said it. "Can we talk. Please?" Jay nodded and stood up, walking over to Rosalie. Rosalie lead him towards the fountain in the garden and they sat together on a bench near it.

"What did you — what did you want to talk about?" Jay asked, breaking the tension that was so thick you could've cut it with a knife. Rosalie looked straight and pursed her lips before she looked into Jay's eyes.

"Don't think I'm not still upset about you spelling me, because I am livid. But. . . what kind of person would I be if I were to leave you out in the dark like this at this time? I can't do that to you, Jay. Because no matter how bad I want to hate you, I can't. I care about you way too much and I hate you for that," Rosalie let out a chuckle, "ironic, right? If I'm being honest with you, I need you right now. It feels like this is all falling apart so quickly and I know it's only been like a fucking day that we've been on bad terms but holy shit this day has been so hard to get through."

Jay nodded in understanding. Slowly, he reached out for her hand. First their pinkies touched and linked before Rosalie completely interlocked their fingers. "After singing I wanted to go to you to ask how you think I did. I wanted to introduce you to my parents, Jay. And I couldn't do that because we were in this argument."

          "I know." Jay whispered.

"So let's put this thing in the past and get over it. But don't think I won't bring it up in the future if we ever get into an argument."

"Which we will." They said simultaneously, making them laugh. When they stopped laughing, they smiled at one another and Jay pulled her into his side. Rosalie scooted closer to him and rested her head on his shoulder, taking in the familiar scent. She was happy to be in his arms again — she was happy to have her boy back.

IT WAS NIGHT TIME and Jay and Rosalie were still sitting in the same place. They had spent the day talking more and more. Getting over their issue and learning more about one another. Rosalie smiled and grabbed Jay's hand, pulling him up. Jay rose an eyebrow. "Oh boy, what're you up to Rosalie?" Rosie simply smiled and placed a hand on Jay's cheek.

"Some people long for a life that is simple and planned. Tied with a ribbon! Some people won't sail the sea 'cause they're safer on land. To follow what's written. But I'd follow you to the great unknown. Off to a world we call our own!" Rosalie sang with a light shake of her head. The redhead then jumped onto the circulatory of the fountain, Jay watching her with cautious eyes.

"Hand in my hand and we promised to never let go!We're walking the tightrope. High in the sky, we can see the whole world down below. We're walking the tightrope." Jay jumped on beside her, Rosie taking his hand again. "Never sure, never know how far we could fall. But it's all an adventure that comes with a breathtaking view. Walking the tightrope. With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. With you."

Jay grinned and pulled Rosalie off of the fountain, Rosalie squealing as they ran into a flower-less garden. They ran into the center of the field, Jay and Rosalie dancing around goofily before Jay pulled Rosalie in. "Mountains and valleys, and all that will come in between. Desert and ocean. You pulled me in and together we're lost in a dream, always in motion. So I risk it all just to be with you. And I risk it all for this life we choose."

The sprinklers turned on, but it didn't faze the pair as they continued to dance around in the water that sprayed onto them. Jay lifted Rosalie into the air by her waist, the redhead grinning widely as she looked down at Jay and giggled uncontrollably. "Hand in my hand and you promised to never let go, we're walking the tightrope. High in the sky, we can see the whole world down below!" When Jay set her down, Rosalie shook her head as he twirled her. "We're walking the tightrope."

Jay turned and Rosalie jumped onto his back, the two not being able to control their laughter. From afar, they would look like two drunk psychos that were dancing around in the sprinklers. In reality, they were just two teenagers experiencing love without either of them realizing it. "We're walking the tightrope. Never sure, will you catch me if I should fall?" Rosalie jumped off of Jay's back and they went to stand in a position that made it seem like they were going to slow dance.

Jay chuckled. "Well, it's all an adventure that comes with a breathtaking view. Walking the tightrope." They began to slow dance horribly, stepping on one another's feet and everything, but it didn't matter. They were trying their best.

"With you. With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. With you, ooh-ooh-ooh. With you." They sang together. They let their foreheads rest together, both teens out of breath. Jay smiled before lifting his head up a tad and capturing Rosalie's lips in his. Rosalie placed a hand on Jay's cheek and rested the other on his chest. Jay pulled away for a split second to remove his jacket and throw it onto Rosalie's shoulders, making her giggle as she pulled the large jacket on.

"Jesus, Rosalie. Be my girlfriend already, please. Before you get mad at me again." Jay said breathlessly. Rosalie smiled and brushed back the wet hair that had began to stick to his forehead. She nodded.

"I'm going to get mad at you again in the future, that's guaranteed, but we'll work it out again. I'm all yours." She then wrapped her arms around his neck, his going around her waist. Jay grinned, pulling her in close and their lips locking again, neither of them wanting to be anywhere else than in that specific moment.
