Two days later, Adrien still looks rather glume. Lila feels sorry for her ex boyfriend. She walks to him. "Adrien, here!" She hands him something and walks off. She goes to find Luka.
Adrien looks at the piece of paper Lila gave to him. It has a phone number on it with Marinette's name next to it. He thinks, could this be Marinette's cell phone number? He debates on rather to dial the number, or not.
Meanwhile, Marinette enjoys her stay at her uncle and aunt's house. She gets up, gets dressed and heads downstairs. She notices her uncle left for work, but he also left her note. "Sorry, I had to go into work while you are here ! I will be home for supper later though! Perhaps, you and your aunt might have a nice girls day ! Love, your uncle Bob." She smiles and thinks, well at least he let me know where he went. Now, what? She eats her breakfast and turns to her aunt Kara.
"Aunt Kara, what shall we do today?" Marinette ask.
"How about we go to the mall?" Aunt Kara says.
"Sure that sounds like fun!" Marinette replies.
"Great! Then, lets go now!" Aunt Kara says.
Marinette and her, Aunt Kara ride in her aunt's car to the mall. She is happy to shop with her. The two girls enjoy their time together!
When, they finish at the mall they head back to the house. Once inside, Marinette hears her cell phone beep, then she hears it ring! She looks at it to see who calls and does not recognize the number. She answers it anyway. "Hello!" Marinette says into the phone.
Adrien grins when he hears her voice. He knows for sure now that Lila was right. This is Marinette's number. He wonders, how did she ever get it though. "Hey, Mari!" Adrien says.
"Oh, hi, Adrien!" Marinette says, and blushes while she speaks to him.
Aunt Kara just smiles. She thinks, it sure was kind of one of Marinette's friends to call to check up on her. She chuckles a little when she sees her niece blush. Why, if I did not know any better it was a boy who calls her!
"Adrien, how are you?" Marinette says.
"I miss you." Adrien says into the phone. He sighs.
"I am lonely without you. Oh, and your boyfriend Luka, is such a cheater. Lila flirts with him almost daily and he flirts back a little." Adrien says.
"Boyfriend? Luka? Luka is not my boyfriend!" Marinette says louder than intended.
"What? I thought you liked him!" Adrien says.
" He is a friend, but I do not love him." Marinette says.
"Wait, you l-love s-someone, M-Mari?" Adrien says into the phone from his end.
"Yes, but I am not ready to tell him yet." Marinette says.
"Whoever he is is blessed! I envy him!" Adrien says into the phone. He gasps, when realizes he almost confessed his love to her.
"Oh, Adrien! Look, I am glad you called, but I must go." Marinette says.
"Okay, well it was great to here your voice if only for a little while." Adrien says.
"Same here!" Marinette says.
"Mari, please come back home to California!" Adrien says into the phone. He thinks, come back to me, my love!
"I will! I will be back! I promise! " Marinette says.
"Good, then I promise to try not to miss you so badly." Adrien says into the phone.
"How are things back home?" Marinette says.
"They are about the same only the sunset is not as lovely without you to share it with Mari!" Adrien says.
"Adrien! You are starting to sound like a flirt!" Marinette says into the phone. She giggles some too.
"Bye, Mari!" Adrien says.
"Bye, Adrien!" Marinette says.
After Marinette hangs up, she sees her Aunt Kara's smirk on her face! Marinette continues to blush as she daydreams about Adrien. She sighs.
"Marinette, my dear niece, was that a boy?" Aunt Kara teases her.
"Yes, but it was only Adrien!" Marinette says.
"Oh, you mean the famous surfer boy you wrote to us about?" Aunt Kara teases.
"Yes, but I do not get it." Marinette says.
"Get what?" Aunt Kara ask
"Why did he call me?" Marinette says.
"By the looks of it you love this boy!" Aunt Kara says.
"Yes, but how did you know?" Marinette says.
"Believe me, I can tell. Besides, Marinette, I may be only your aunt, and not your mother,but let me give you some advice, no matter how hard life gets you can never completely run from your problems. When you find someone you love, you must confess and do what you can to be happy! What is life, without its up's and down's?" Aunt Kara says.
"Wow, you are so wise! Thanks for the advice, Aunt Kara!" Marinette says.
"As to why this Adrien calls you on your phone like this, well I would say he cares deeply for you! He may even be fond of you! " Aunt Kara says. The one thing, she does not say is that she believes Adrien may even love Marinette. Somehow, she is not sure Marinette would believe her if she told her.
"Adrien, fond of me?" Marinette blushes a deeper shade of red.
Now, with Adrien Agreste back in Sunny, California...
Adrien sighs. He thinks about all he told Marinette. He wonders, if she will really return within a few days. If so, he can not wait to see her! He feels like the time spent away from her only makes his love stronger for her! He smiles. He believes maybe in time, she will fall in love with me!
He remembers how she told him she was not Luka's girlfriend. He thinks, but if she is not then, why did she agree to hang out with her coworker after work hours anyway? He shakes his head. He decides some things he will have to wait to find out when she returns from her visit to see her family out of town.
Adrien's POV: Women, are even more hard to understand than I thought! I mean just when I figure Marinette is upset with Luka, her boyfriend, I find out he is not her boyfriend, but how? I mean, I saw how he looks at her when they were together. Oh, but she did seem sad when she left with him. Perhaps, she!...Nah! The very idea is preposterous! Is it not?
