It was nighttime and it was raining. The patter of the rain hitting the windows was calming and you ultimately loved the sound while trying to fall asleep. That was until thunder started to roar, horrifying you to the extreme.

Ever since you were a small child, you were afraid of thunder, there wasn't a specific event that caused this fear, but it was something that just stuck with you through your teen years.

Being sixteen was a little too old to be afraid, or so you thought. Being surprised to hear other students gasp and hide their face when thunder roared made you feel a little calmer that you weren't alone.

As the thunder grew louder, lightening came to the party. Lightening never bothered you, you were afraid it would zap you, but inside you knew you were safe as the castle had stood through many lightening storms.

You knew exactly where to go- the Slytherin Dorms. You grabbed your robe and a pair of fuzzy socks your mother had sent to you for the holidays and you started your journey to the dungeons to find your best friend, Draco Malfoy.

You looked around to see no prefects around as you ran to the dungeons, quietly saying the password pure blood before the door opened, getting into the common room. Thankfully no one was down in the room.

Knowing where Draco's dorm was you quickly and quietly made your way up to it. Knowing he was awake you carefully opened the door and closed it, not trying to wake up his roommates. He was in fact awake and shot his head up when he noticed a person standing in the middle of the room.

"Oh y/n, the thunder again?" He asked and you nodded.

He scooted to the side of his bed and let you crawl in beside him. He was your best friend and you two have cuddled in his bed before, so it wasn't weird for you to be in his bed again.

He put aside his letter and quill before settling down next to you, wrapping his arm around you and stroking your hair.

The clap of thunder startling you and caused you to involuntarily squeak into his chest as you held him tighter. He chuckled and kissed your hairline in a comforting way.

"You're okay. You're not going anywhere." He quietly spoke. You two have spent many stormy nights together, ever since your first year.

Your families were close friends, as you both are pure blooded wizards. You were practically raised together as siblings, and that sprouted into a beautiful lifelong friendship. Despite both of your parents requests for you to be in a relationship and later on have pure blooded children, you weren't fully opposed to the idea but you knew Draco had other plans and you didn't want to hold him back.

"I love you, you know." His voice was gentle, a tone only you had the honor of hearing.

"I love you too, you know." You mimicked his tone.

He moved a strand of hair behind your ear, and slowly leaned down to meet his warm lips against your old ones, the thunder suddenly silencing during the kiss as you wrapped your arms around his neck and he held your waist tightly. Everything felt okay in that moment.

He pulled away and he kissed your forehead before pulling you close to his chest, where you fell asleep in content.
