troye never moved from his spot.
he looked down at grace as if she was going to randomly come back to life. he was in denial, he didn't want to believe she was dead. grace was too young, she could tell that she had this type of light to her that he knew everyone loved.
at least she was at peace, she was no longer in pain. both mentally and physically. troye wondered what she was doing, or where she is. is she in heaven like people say or is she somewhere else... someone else? was she reincarnated, is she a baby that was just born?
troye could feel himself want to whither away like grace did. just take himself out of this pain instead of waiting on someone to do it for him. he would have never admitted this to grace but he had thought about ending it himself. he could bang his head against a wall, not eat the "food" they had given him. he thought about pissing off one of the men enough and see if he'd beat him to death or shoot him.
"... any word on how close," troye over heard.
one of the men sucked their teeth. "dunno, snow has been trying to get them off her trail but that bitch has been finding more as snow covers more."
"everyone's giving it a week," one man said. "some people have already left. what are we going to do about those two."
'you mean one.' troye thought to himself.
the other man chuckles. "snow has been given them enough food to keep them a float for years. all she gotta do is cut off their food. and she already did that."
"what do you say we just go and beat that fag just for fun, he's gonna die anyway. why not have fun."
troye's eyes widened as he heard the men laugh together before their boots start to click down the hall. troye lifted grace's head from his lap before dragging himself to the back of the cell.
"oh look," one of the guys say unlocking the cell bars. "he's already cowering away from us."
"p-please," troye said in a broken voice. "you already said i'm good as dead... just let me die."
both of the men laughed as they started to walk towards troye. as they do one of them notices grace lying on the ground.
"look, one of them is already dead." he said before snickering.
troye wanted to say something but whatever he would say would just get laughed at by the men.
"hold him up," one of the guys say. "i want first hit."
the next few minutes went by in a blur as both men took turns punching and kicking troye. they treated him as if he was a ragdoll made of stuffing. the young aussie was used to this kind of thing by now. he barely made a noise, it was just whimpers and whines.
after awhile the men got bored and let his body fall to the floor. they chuckled as they left, high-fiving as if they had won some game.
the tears left troye's eyes after the men had left. he knew all too well that if they saw him cry it would only want to make the hurt him more, because if he cried they were winning.
and they were winning, but troye couldn't let them see that. he had to be strong, be strong for jacob.
"i-i," troye coughs. "i-i know you'll- you'll... find me Jakey but please, please hurry," he says before coughing and sniffing.
"because i don't know how much longer i can hold on."
