Next Time

117 21 11

When I listen to our song,
I remember it all
The hugs, the laughs,
The midnight calls
When I look at the pictures,
I saved on that file
I wonder if next time,
I'll do it with a smile.

When I play those memories,
In my mind
There's not a moment,
I can find
When I'm not staring,
With a tear-stained face
Wondering if next time,
They'll get erased.

When I read those letters,
I remember the past
How I thought we were perfect,
How I thought we would last
One day, will the pattern-
Rearrange?
I wonder if next time,
It will change.

When I think of you,
I want to take you back
Work it through,
Push us on track
My mind knows I must,
Lock those old doors
I wonder if next time,
I won't love you anymore.
