imagine you tell the doctor you don't want to travel with him anymore.

You'd felt like an outcast your entire life and being with the doctor only amplified that feeling inside of you. It wasn't his fault but rather his companion's, Rose. She always wanted his full attention, leaving no room for you and you were tired of it. Of course, it wasn't intentional but you didn't care at this point.

You were sat on the steps, watching as Ten and Rose laughed together. Suddenly the doctor looked up at you, his eyes filling with worry when he saw that your usual smile was replaced with a frown. You gulped before turning away quickly, not wanting to cause a commotion. "Er Rose, can you just give me a second" You heard the Doctor say. You turned your head to see him approaching you. He sighed as he sat down next to you and he placed your hand in his. "What's wrong y/n?" He asked

"Nothing" You scoffed. He raised his eyebrows at you, knowing it was a lie. "Come on, just spill" He urged you. You removed your hand from his and looked down at the floor. "I can't do this anymore" You managed to croak out. "What's that supposed to mean?" The doctor asked. "I miss the old times. The times when travelling was actually fun. When it was just you and me" You sniffed, trying to keep the tears back. "It can still be fun" The doctor smiled sadly. You looked up at him with your watery eyes. "You don't have time for me anymore. And I don't want to make it seem like I'm an obstacle in the way of you and her" You said as you looked over at Rose.

"y/n" The doctor sighed. "Don't be so stupid. You have always come first." He reassured you, but it seemed too hard for you to believe. "It's not about who comes first" You shook your head. "Don't get me wrong, I love this. Exploring the universe. Fighting off the bad guys. Helping people. But." You sighed, not able to finish your sentence. "But you're not sure if it's truly what you want" The doctor spoke, finishing your sentence. You smiled at him and nodded your head slightly. "Exactly" You whispered.

You both then realized that Rose had been listening the entire time. She looked at you with a guilty face. "I never meant to make you feel that way" She gulped. "I'm so sorry" She whispered. "It's fine. It's probably for the best" You smiled as you got up and approached her. "And please, just tell him you fancy him" You whispered into her ear. "But I don't" She protested. "I'm not stupid Rose, i see it in your eyes. I wouldn't blame you" You giggled as you flicked a switch on the control panel.

"One last hoorah?" You quizzed as you smirked at the doctor.
