Superboy held heavy doubts about the cable's ability to hold up against Kryptonian strength, but he didn't want to take chances with anything that belonged to one of those maniacs.  Even now, he could still hear their erratic heartbeats pounding away nearby.  Aside from the soft beats of the unconscious mass of criminals, four distinct beats seemed to echo in his head.  The thought of MORE insane children running around nearly sent a shiver down Conner's arched back, causing him to double down on his focus. The voice of...Nightwing?

That was his name, right? He briefly questioned before shaking his head and turning back to the conversation. A voice he didn't recognize was frantically pleading to leave while another stranger defiantly wondered why.  Honestly, despite not wanting them to escape, Superboy couldn't help but wonder why the younger one sounded so desperate to leave. Unfortunately, Nightwing, in an effort to restore the peace, decided to change the subject before Conner could learn the boy's motive.  However, he forgot about his curiosity rather quickly at the mention of the Team.  Alarm clouded over his judgment momentarily at the revelation that these four knew about him and his friends, a secret that up until now he had believed was guarded with the utmost importance and security by the Justice League. How in the name of Krypton did these random kids find out?!

Or, Conner suddenly realized, maybe these aren't just normal children? After all, Nightwing clearly had training, enough to at least incapacitate him of all people, and without the use of Kryptonite for crying out loud!  That level of skill was not something you could attain alone, which begged several questions as to who EXACTLY decided to train these boys and why?  Probably for nothing good...Superboy decided as he heard that the other Team members were accounted for by the maniacs, well except for M'gann and oddly enough, himself.  Still, discrepancies aside, he held his breath on news of the Martian, silently swearing revenge on anyone who dared to harm her.  Yet, his nerves didn't calm when it was revealed that she was in their custody.  On the contrary, Conner actually found himself renewing his struggle against the impossible bindings.  His frustration grew as they refused to yield, causing him to growl out in anger.  Thankfully, it seemed to go unnoticed as Nightwing and his cohorts had all begun bickering at some point.  Conner nearly breathed a sigh of relief, however, he fell completely silent instead.  Sure, the voices and heartbeats were still going rather strong, but they didn't completely fill the air.  He could hear frenzied movements of something dashing around in the darkness, and occasionally catch a glimpse of what could very well be a glow stick for all he knew...but it WAS visible.

What the- Was all Conner was able to think before his head began pounding.  He squirmed desperately as he tried to block out what seemed like a jackhammer, only to remember his arms were tied up.  Grumbling, Conner's grief soon turned to excitement when he recalled the only person with a uniquely speedy heartbeat.

"Wally!"  Conner whisper yelled, hoping to gain only his teammate's attention.  Unfortunately, any attempts to be discreet failed miserably when the nearby glow erratically flew threw the air and a shriek accompanied the scene.  Conner cringed, knowing full well that wouldn't go missed. Thankfully, Wally had enough sense to duck behind the container before anyone saw him. The random noises seemed to increase the argument, which now actively involved all of the maniacs. A few theories about the reason for the strange sounds reached Conner, but he was far too concerned with dealing with Wally. At least the speedster seemed to realize it was indeed HIM who had called out earlier.

"Superboy?"

Conner quickly felt a hand on his shoulder, and noticed the light shining near his eyes.

"Yeah, now hurry up and get me out of this!"

He tried to focus his hearing on the four children while Wally mumbled about the cord. It seemed as though it would be a while, yet much to his surprise, Conner was almost immediately freed. Confusingly, he glanced towards the dim light source and noticed a slight glare.
