"Okay. This Saturday, invite him here for dinner. We want to meet him" Dad says with an authority and before I could speak, nagsalita si Mama.
"Diba Hon, may out of town tayo this weekend?" Mom asks sabay tingin kay Dad.
"Oh right. Oo nga, mamaya mo nalang siya papuntahin dito" Dad then says looking at me and bumilis lalo ang tibok ng dibdib ko when Dad changed his mind.
"What? mamaya na po?" Tanong ko kay Dad and he nodded in response. "Oo, mamaya na. Your mom and I are not free this weekend"
"Bakit po? Sa'n po kayo?" I ask.
"We're going to have a business meeting sa Cebu" Dad answered. "so, mamaya ha, tell Juan na dito siya magdi-dinner"
"Talaga bang mamaya na Dad? pwede bukas na lang?" I whined kasi hindi ko rin alam kung pa'no ko 'to sasabihin kay Juan.
"Today is today. And also, sa 7pm yung flight namin bukas so we have no time"
Today is today. Hindi na talaga pumayag si Daddy. After our breakfast, my parents drove me to school habang sila naman ay pumunta na rin sa kanilang mga trabaho. I asked again kung talagang mamaya na ba and Dad said na mamaya na nga in finality.
I sighed because parang hindi naman ako prepared nun and for sure lalong lalo na si Juan. Kaya, when they dropped me at UP, I immediately texted Juan if anong oras siya bakante and as always, agaran naman nagreply si Juan that he's free right now.
So I asked him if we could meet habang hindi pa naman nagsisimula yung class ko. I still have half an hour away so I'm just going to take this opportunity nalang since sa 6 pa matatapos yung klase ko and that is our dinner time. Wala ng oras.
Juan agreed and he told me na I'll just stay where I am and that he'll be there in a few minutes . I sat on the bench, fidgeting my fingers kasi kinakabahan talaga 'ko.
After a few minutes naman, a familiar car showed in front of me and I saw Juan went out from the driver's seat.
"Hey" he says as he went up to me and hugged me. Tumayo naman ako so I could hug him back. "Hi"
"You miss me na kagad?" tanong niya while smiling wickedly at me. Napairap naman ako.
"Kapal. I just have something to tell you" Sabi ko sa kanya before I heaved a sigh.
I saw Juan's face suddenly turned serious nang mapansin niya atang something is up to me. "You're not breaking up with me, don't you?" he said in a serious that made me burst into laugh
"Baliw! Ano ba pinagsasabi mo" Hampas ko sa kanya habang natatawa after I heard him said that. " 'di nga tayo e"
"Wait... So, if I ask you out, will you say yes to me ba?" Tanong niya sakin at umirap naman ulit ako. "Yes agad? E, hindi ka nga nanligaw"
"I mean, will you say yes to me ba if I'll make ligaw to you?" Tanong niya naman "like, seriously"
"Uy, ano ba pinagsasabi mo?" Tanong ko sa kanya as my forehead creased and my brows furrowed. Ano ba pinagsasabi niya?
"I said, if pag manliligaw ba ako sa'yo, will you allow me?" he repeated at mas lalong kumunot ang noo ko.
"Seryoso ka ba?" I asked him kasi last time I checked this is not the talk we should be talking about. Kinabahan ako bigla.
