We landed in our home province of Manitoba an hour ago. While Isabella was ecstatic to show Liam the city we didn't visit very often, I was feeling very apprehensive. We only had a day and a half to sort everything out and we had to stay clear of unwanted attention.

Timothy grabbed our bags and handed them to us to carry to our rented car. I had slightly moved into the pack house over the last few days, with everything going on. The morning of Izzy's ceremony, we both went home and packed about two weeks worth of our things to keep at the pack in case anything happened. The only person who seem to mind that I was living there was Ace.

After waking up earlier this morning, I found myself alone, naked in my bed. I could barely smell any trace of Ace around me, letting me know he didn't stay the night. The only thing to keep me from thinking it wasn't a dream, were the love bites that trailed down my neck. To say I was disappointed, would be an understatement, but I knew I couldn't get my hopes up.

The marks didn't go unnoticed by Izzy, who had been bugging me the whole flight, begging me to give her a hint on who it was. I truly did want to tell her, to open up and find some comfort to the never ending pain growing in my chest, but something held me back from doing so.

We arrived at our hotel and settled in around mid afternoon. Timothy and I decided to share a room considering we didn't want any chance of seeing the other two fucking in the same room as us. Izzy and Liam shared a room directly across the hall from us and were more then happy to have some time alone.

Izzy and I decided we would talk with the lawyer today, so we could keep this visit short. We made our way to the large building downtown and found our way to the lawyer's office where she welcomed us in. Janice smiles at us kindly and begins.

"I'm sorry we had to meet under these circumstances, but I'll keep this as brief as I can." She pulled a few folders before handing us both one each. "Everything will be split equally between the two of you. Ms. Rosemary didn't own any estate and most of her items had been donated per her request, but she left on item for each other you."

Janice went behind her desk and opened a small safe, pulling out two small boxes handing one to Izzy and one to me.

"Ms. Rosemary had a few final words that she wanted me to share with you both." Janice paused, making Izzy and I look at each other nervously before signalling for her to continue. "She wanted me to let you know that she was not upset that you did not visit, she understood the circumstances and the dangers of coming here. She loved you both dearly and will continue to watch over you." Janice smiled at us kindly before she turned serious once again. "She also had a warning, she knew you would have to come here at some point, but she wants you to leave as soon as possible. His people are always watching."

Izzy and I nodded taking in the information, we both knew it was a risk coming here, but we didn't expect him to possibly have more help. He's gotten stronger.

We thanked Janice and left her office after filling out the final documents. We drove back to the hotel in silence, taking in the information that was provided. We would be leaving tomorrow, I just hope that wasn't too late.

"Do you think they've already caught our scent?" Isabella asks as we park in parking lot of the hotel.

"No, well not yours anyways. I want to keep him in the dark for as long as I can. He wouldn't know you shifted or are mated, which means he doesn't know your new scent and we're going to keep it that way." I explain with determination.

"But what about you? Your scent hasn't changed, someone could have already picked it up." She said turning in her chair to face me with concerned eyes.

"Don't worry about me, you have a throne to get to, while my job is to protect you. If he catches my scent and comes to find me, then I'll kill him and our worries will be finished." I answered.

Izzy nodded sceptically and followed me out of the car and back to our rooms. She let me know her and Liam would be going to dinner in the restaurant of the hotel, while Timothy and I decided to order to the room and watch some movies. I could already tell this boy and I would be great friends. He was very kind and observant, while also being an amazing warrior only at the age of seventeen! I found out after a while that he was one of Ace's cousins, which would explain his strength seeing as he has some Alpha blood in him.

After finishing our second movie, which we picked at random based off of the suggestions, I went to go fill up our snacks from the fridge. I know they're expensive, but I was too lazy to go to the gift shop to get food and Timothy said Ace was paying for his room anyways so I thought this would be the least he could do for denying his mate.

"You know," Timothy started as he sat up on his bed. "You and Ace are really bad at hiding the fact that you're mates."

I nearly chocked on my M&Ms as I turn to face him with large eyes.

"What?" I ask stupidly as I slowly make my way over to sit next to him.

"I was there when your eyes connected, the dumb look you guys both got made me realize. Plus every time you're in a room together he can't take his eyes off you and at the ceremony I'd bet all my money that the whole pack smelt your desire." He explained proudly that he connected all the dots.

I groaned and let my head drop into my hands as my face heated up.

"I really hope you're the only one who has noticed." I muttered.

"Probably, no one really pays much attention around the pack house." He shrugged. "So why aren't you two attached by the hip?"

The pain that I had calmed, came back full force once I remembered why. I looked up at Timmy with pain clearly shown in my eyes which made his devious eyes change to concern.

"Um well..." I started. "He said he already has a Luna and I'm not needed." Saying it out loud made a few tears run down my cheeks. I felt humiliated, I never let anyone see me cry, especially over a boy and it was already embarrassing enough that I wasn't enough for my mate.

"What? How could he do that? He doesn't have anyone in line, unless it's that air head Angela!" Timothy exclaimed, as rage took over him.

"It's ok, Timothy, I'm learning to accept the fact that he doesn't want me. He has priorities with the pack and has to make sacrifices. Trust me, I know a lot about that." I explained gently.

Timothy sighed and stood up before starting to pace the room while running his hands through his already messy hair.

"I just can't believe he would lie to you in the process! I mean Angela was never supposed to be in line. I thought it was just a fling!" He muttered to himself.

All of this started to make me light headed. I knew something was off when Ace explained we couldn't be together, but did he really lie to me? Right off the hop? I felt even more crushed than I did before. All I knew was that I needed to get out of the small room.

And that's what I did as I grabbed my phone and slipped out the door as Timothy continued to mutter to himself. I needed to be alone and figure out how to approach Ace with the subject of me dying if he rejected me.
