Two weeks left.

Two weeks left.

I have been chanting that in my head since the moment I woke up. Today is exactly two weeks away from my due date and I could not be anymore unprepared. It had been a week since my date with Ace and we still hadn't gone shopping for anything. I asked him a few times, but he was constantly busy.

I don't want to depend on him, but being a witch in hiding with a werewolf twin sister, doesn't pay well. We barely got by over the years after we left the pack. Luckily, we were able to pay for Isabella to go to university with her working at a diner while I worked at three different minimum wage jobs. After she got her degree in a short business course, she was able to work and get a higher salary. I was planning on returning to school in the fall since we were stable enough, but then we met our mates and everything has been put on hold. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back, though, I desperately want to pursue a career in teaching.

I sighed and shook my thoughts aside. I was about to be a mother, there was no way I would be able to go back to school now.

I slowly wobbled down the long flight of stairs and made my way to the kitchen. Ever since I started sleeping with Ace, the nightmares have become less frequent and I've grown to trust him a bit. I've gotten better at socializing with the pack again, but usually only with those that pass through the kitchen since I'm constantly hungry now. The odd day I'll spend in the library, but there was no one to bring me food, so I started reading in the kitchen.

No one in the pack seems to hate me, which is a relief, but none of them know I could potentially be their Luna. Werewolves are usually ok with witches, but a werewolf having to listen to a witch? Now that's a different story. Either way, I hope I get the chance to be the Luna and get to know more of the pack. Ace's pack is so kind and welcoming, the complete opposite of my old pack which hated me and would lock me up with no explanation. Unfortunately, even though Ace and I have been spending time together, it doesn't seem like he's interested in introducing me to the pack anytime soon.

Once I grabbed a plate of berries from the fridge, I sat at the dinning table and opened my book. I had only been reading for a handful of minutes before I heard thundering steps down the stairs. Moments after the last thud was heard, I saw an exasperated Charlie run into the kitchen and run behind me. He crouched down and hid behind my chair, looking around it to the entrance of the kitchen.

"What are you doing?" I questioned while I turned my body to face him.

His eyes didn't leave the threshold when he answered.

"Timothy has been so possessive lately and it's driving me mad! I had to get away even if it's only for a few minutes, but a man's got to eat!"

I laughed lightly and handed him some berries.

Ever since we came back to Ace's pack, when Charlie and Timothy found each other, I hadn't seen them much. I ran into one or the other from time to time when I left my room or sometimes Timothy would come to the library and tell me how boring I am, but other than that, I've barley spoken to them. Isabella tells me they're doing well and that Timothy is the top, not that I wanted to know that, but apparently Isabella believes it is crucial information. I didn't dare tell her that I think they're switches. They both have Alpha blood, and though Charlie's dominant side may be dormant at the moment after becoming an Omega, I don't doubt for a moment that his time will come when he gets to have his fun with Timothy.

"What did you do this time?" I asked after he finished all of my berries.

"Nothing!" Charlie grumbled before sitting on the chair next to me. "He just thinks I'm going to go into heat soon because he marked me, but we haven't done anything more..."
