"Thank you, Doctor Eve. It was a pleasure being your patient." I laughed as I signed out of the infirmary.

The nurses waved to me as I left the building. I walked over to the car parked outside where Izzy was putting Adris in his car seat. I double checked that he was buckled in before sliding into the seat next to him in the back.

"Ready to go?" Izzy asked as she started the car.

"Yup." I smiled not looking away from the little bean sleeping next to me.

The pack house wasn't far from the infirmary, but Izzy thought it would be easier to drive and safer for Adris, so I wasn't complaining. The drive was painfully slow as Izzy was taking this whole new baby thing to the extreme. I thought I would be more protective, but knowing what I've been through, Adris is strong as hell and a little bump in the road won't hurt him.

Once we arrived, I took Adris out of his car seat and held him close to my chest while Isabella grabbed a few bags to carry inside. I was feeling extra nervous today, something in my gut was telling me this was unsettling.

Isabella lead us up the stairs and through the halls until I recognized my old room. Izzy opened the door to the one across from it letting the light stream into the hall. Once I entered, I was shocked to notice a small nursery set up. The walls were painted a light blue and a crib sat in the middle of the room while in one corner there was a rocking chair and the other a changing table. Along the walls, there were storing shelves with toys and two dressers near the window. Overall, it was a beautiful, simple nursery.

"It's perfect." I smiled as I gently placed a sleeping Adris in the crib.

Izzy nodded and closed to door before joining mean near the crib.

"I asked Liam to set it up when you were... you know..." She paused before continuing. "He got some pack members to help too and they set this all up. You truly have stolen the pack's heart."

I looked over at my sister and smiled sadly. It'll be hard to say goodbye to all the people I have met here, but it's what needs to be done.

Before I could respond, a beam of light slowly started forming on the wall to our right growing bigger by the second. Izzy and I were both quick to put a force field around Adris as he slept before taking defensive positions. The now oval shape white light took up nearly the whole wall and then a small black figure began to grow, coming towards us. A minute later, a small body fell through the whole, onto the ground and the bright light was gone.

The small woman hunched over herself on the ground, groaning in pain.

"Who are you and why are you here?" I demanded. The woman looked up and I gasped. "Marianna?"

Marianna slowly stood up and smiled kindly, her bright brown eyes looking relieved.

"Thank Goddess!" She exclaimed as she stood up and brushed herself off. She had a few bruises littering her arms and a cut near her eyebrow that was crusted with dried blood. "I was worried I would teleport to the wrong place, you know how tricky that spell can be." She laughed lightly.

I stood there shocked trying to think of a good reason as to why she would be here, in the pack, but nothing came to mind.

"Marianna, what are you doing here?" Izzy asked, voicing for both of us.

"Right." Marianna became serious as she remembered her business. "Something's happening at the coven and we need you," She said looking in my direction, "Immediately."

"What would I be needed for?" I asked before glancing back to see Adris still well protected as my sister and I faced Marianna.

"Your mother came to the coven this morning and is demanding we fight her battles. No one is willing to help so she went insane!" Marianna threw her arms in the air before continuing. "She started rounding everyone up and used a few of the elders as 'examples'. She killed them, Mary... She killed my grandmother in front of everyone, just to prove that she's in control." She wiped her stray tears away. "None of us can go against her, except you. Your mother is our leader and can control us that way, but you're her heir and her equal. Plus you're blessed by the Goddess."
