I parked my car next to the large beautiful garden that spread out for yards, with trees that got lost in the skies. I may not like this place, but it was truly magnificent. I made my way to the pathway and towards the large home that sat in the middle of the beautiful acres.

Before I even knocked on the door, it was thrown open and I was tackled by a familiar young witch.

"Marilynn! You're back!" Marianna exclaimed. She let me go and I took in her appearance. I hadn't seen her since she was fifteen, now she was almost eighteen and looked like a strong young adult. She had long dark hair, that was braided to one side with big brown eyes that still held their innocence. She was a few inches shorter than I was, but could probably take anyone if she needed to.

"It's good to see you, Marianna, but I'm in a hurry. Is my mother here?" I asked smiling at her gently.

I had driven all night and it was now early afternoon. The pain had subsided, but I could feel my body growing weaker each hour that passed. I knew that if I waited any longer, I may not be able to preform the spell that I needed.

"No," She shook her head as she lead me into the house where other coven members waved to me. "Your mother left a few days ago and hasn't returned yet."

I nodded processing the information before turning to her once again.

"I need to preform a spell to contact the Moon Goddess, I usually go through my sister since she is directly connected to the Goddess, but I'm hoping with enough power from the witches here I could contact her with my connection to the moon. Do you think you could round everyone up? The ones who want to help anyways?" I ask.

I know I wasn't in any place to ask for favours, but they respected me here since my mother was the leader and I needed their help desperately so hopefully there would be enough volunteers to help.

Marianna nodded and made her way around the house, while I went to prepare the space in the backyard where the spells were usually preformed. Within the next hour, at least twenty of the strongest witches joined Marianna and I outside. I explained my situation to them, some sensed I was pregnant and others nodded in understanding once they found out my mate rejected me. I trusted the members, they had always been loyal and our coven was usually very unbiased and got along with many other species unlike other covens.

We knew the spell would take a lot out of us, so we waited until the moon was high in the sky so I could draw as much energy as I could from it. Then we began.

I started the chant, the one engraved in my mind since I was young, the same chant used the day Izzy shifted. I concentrated on all of the energy around me, absorbing it from the moon and my ancestors before me who were with us during this time.

Soon enough, the rest of the members joined in. They had circled around me and held hands as they chanted louder and louder until I felt a throbbing begin in my temple. I screamed out in pain as the throbbing became stronger and stronger until I couldn't stand, but I continued chanting with everything I had until all I could see was a blinding white.

"My sweet girl..." I turned around quickly to see the Moon Goddess hovering above me with a disappointed look. "I didn't expect to see you for a very long time."

I smiled gently at her before becoming serious again, needing her help more then anything.

"I have a favour to ask for, you are the only one who can help." I started

"I'm listening." She signalled for me to continue.

"You may know that I am pregnant," I paused as she nodded, "I was also rejected by my mate...And you of all people know that a rejected witch will die. I can already feel myself becoming weaker and it breaks my heart that my unborn child may not have a chance. So I come to ask you, no beg you, to do something so I can bring my child into the world. I will do anything." I finish, knowing I was on the verge of tears, I take a deep breath and look up at her.

"My sweet girl, after everything you have done for Isabella, I would love to help you, but doing so will disturb the balance of nature. Although, after everything, I will grant you this. The typical pregnancy of a pup is six months, but to give you this chance, you have three months. Your child will grow strong and fast, so be safe." She smiled gently and waved her hand over my body. I let out a sigh of relief, already feeling some of my energy returning to my body.

"Thank you so much, Goddess, I could never repay you." I express.

"You have done enough, child." She said as she caressed my cheek before look sorrowful. "I am terribly sorry for the way your mate has treated you. I expected more from him considering you are his second chance mate. I didn't think he would pass up the chance."

"His second mate?" I asked shocked.

"Yes dear child, don't give up on him just yet, he may surprise you."

And with that she was gone and was back with the coven as we all finished our chanting.

"It worked, I have three months," I explain, relieved. We all rejoice before heading to our quarters for the night. I stayed with Marianna and we discussed baby names and the possibility of her finding a mate one day before falling asleep.

I knew I needed to get back to the pack to watch over Izzy, since he was still out there so the next morning I packed my things and said goodbye. Marianna promised to visit soon as I drove away.

An hour into the drive home, I was suddenly on alert. Something was off. Before I had time to react, a wolf jumped out in front of my car and I swerved into the ditch. I hit my head on the steering wheel and couldn't focus on the commotion around me as I saw multiple figures stepping around the car. The last thing I heard before darkness took me was a familiar laughter that sent shivers down my spine.
