"Come on! Let's go already! This baby isn't going to wait on anybody." I pushed everyone out of the house as I wobbled out behind them.

After days of begging, I finally got everyone to help with shopping. Isabella and I were going to get clothes and toys, Liam and Ace were in charge of the big stuff like the crib and strollers while Timothy and Charlie were tagging along to get whatever else we needed. We all piled into our three separate vehicles and took off towards the city.

Isabella turned up the radio and started screeching the lyrics. She may be a Goddess, but she was not blessed with a singing voice, that's for sure. I laughed at my ridiculous sister while she sped down the highway.

I was ecstatic to finally get this out of the way. After this, I really hope I start feeling more prepared, I have only less then two weeks so time was pressing. I still haven't told Ace about the rejection, but at the same time, he has made no indication that he was going to take back his rejection. Even though we have spent more time together, every time I was with him I could still feel the throbbing pain. I try to push it to the back of my mind when I'm with Ace, but it's been getting harder lately, especially since we have been intimate in the last few days. I wonder if he feels the pain too...

We arrived to the mall a few hours later and piled out of our vehicles.

"Ok, listen up!" Isabella ordered while we circled her. "You all know the plan, you are here for the baby. Get everything you need as quick as possible and meet back here in three hours. Let's move out!"

I laughed while following Isabella into the mall while the boys were a little stunned by her orders. Izzy usually doesn't show that side of herself unless she really needs to.

"Isn't this just adorable?" Isabella gushed, holding up a pink onesie with a panda face on the front. We were looking through the clothes at a few stores before we found one that only had clothes babies.

"What if it's a boy?" I asked.

Isabella waved me off and put it in the cart anyways. "Colour has no gender."

We walked through the rest of the store, filling up the cart with all sizes and colours of clothes. Everything from hats, mittens, coats, onesies and shoes. This baby is going to be spoiled rotten. We had been walking for about an hour when my feet started to get sore. The extra weight was a pain in the ass, but it was worth it.

"Hey, Izzy?" I asked grabbing her attention. "Can we go get some food? I don't know how much longer I can go without eating."

"But what about the toys?" She pouted.

"I'll text Charlie to get them, I doubt they're doing anything anyways." I pulled out my phone and sent him a text while we made our way to the checkout.

Once we paid for everything, Izzy carried the multiple bags towards the food court. I apparently wasn't allowed to carry any bags of my own except my purse. Surprisingly, Izzy is the most protective over me out of everyone. Sure, the others are more careful around me and help me out when I need, but Izzy won't let me lift a single finger around her.

"What do you want to eat?" Izzy asked after finding a table for us to sit at.

"Subway!" I demanded. Izzy rolled her eyes and headed towards Subway, already knowing my order by heart. After a few minutes, she returned and we ate in silence.

I finished my last cookie before I noticed Izzy staring at me intently.

"What? Do I have something on my face?"

She shook her and sighed. "I just want to ask one more time, but...who's the father? Who's your mate?"

Her look was burning a hole right into my soul. Izzy looked at me with pure concern and hurt. We usually tell each other everything, but I know that would just ruin what little I had with Ace.

I sighed and looked away. "I can't tell you Izzy..."

She frowned deeply. "But-"

"Listen," I interrupted. "I'll tell you once the baby is born. There's more to it that you don't know, but I promise everything will be cleared up once the baby is here."

I smiled gently and after a moment Izzy sighed and smiled too.

"I'm excited to be an Aunt, and I better be the Godmother too!"

"You're going to be everything, I doubt you'll even let me be the mother." I laughed.

Isabella laughed along and then she finished her meal. We sat in the food court until the time was up and then headed back towards our meeting spot. Liam and Ace didn't have any bags on them, but I assume they put everything in the SUV Charlie and Timothy on the other hand were pushing two carts full of toys from multiple stores like Toys R Us and Walmart.

"You guys definitely went overboard." I commented.

"You're one to talk, look how many bags Izzy has!" Charlie exclaimed.

I raised my hands in defence. "Hey, that was all Izzy."

Ace shook his head before mumbling, "I'm going to be so broke."

We all laughed and then exited the mall. Liam demanded that he had to be with Izzy after being apart for so long leaving me in the passenger seat of Ace's SUV. The music filled the silence most of the way home, but I was too distracted by my thoughts to hear it.

Being so close to him brings back all my doubts and concerns about where we're at in this bond. Ace has never mentioned going forth with us, but then again he took me on a date and ate me out in his office. We also haven't talked about what we're going to do when the baby comes, but if he doesn't accept me soon then I won't even be here. I know it's my fault for not bringing it up with him as well, but I'm scared for the outcome. What if he rejects me again? What if he decides he wants nothing to do with me or his child?

However, what if does want us? What if we could make this work and have our happy ending?

"Penny for your thoughts, sweet cheeks?" I turned my head from the window to see Ace glancing at the me while we were stopped at a light.

I scrunched my face in distastes at the pet name before rolling my eyes. "None of your concern, keep yours eyes on the road."

"Come on, I'm curious. You were looking at the window like it all the answers to your problems."

I huffed is annoyance while we continued down the highway.

Did I really want to be that cliche? I thought before shrugging to myself. Come on, Marilynn. Have some confidence.

"What are we?" I blurted out. My eyes widen at how dumb I sounded and I crossed my arms over my chest to distract the embarrassment I felt. It was silent for a moment before he answered. I couldn't read his emotions, he seemed too calm.

"We're mates, obviously."

"Yeah, but what are we doing? Are you going to introduce me to the pack? Do you even want a child with me?" I pressed not liking his answer.

Ace thought for a moment before glancing at me and smiling gently. That smile had my heart racing. He looked back at the road and then answered.

"I don't regret us having this baby together and I know we don't have a stable relationship right now, but I think we'll get there. How 'bout this? We have a lot to discuss, so why don't I take you out to a fancy dinner tomorrow night? There's a larger town near the pack that has a great restaurant. We can figure everything out then."

I smiled at his proposition. "I'd like that."

Satisfied with his answer, I decided to nap the rest of the car ride. Maybe this could work, Ace has hope we'll make this work, so shouldn't I? Why did I have a dreading feeling that everything was going to come crumbling down?
