I sat around the pack kitchen table while bouncing Adris on my knee. I had tried feeding him, but he wasn't having it so now he was giggling away as he bounced. I just hoped he fell asleep soon enough since he decided not to sleep last night.

I looked up as Isabella dragged her feet into the kitchen and plopped down on the chair next to me. She groaned loudly before stealing some of the grapes I had out for Adris.

"How are you feeling?" I asked gently.

Izzy looked up at me and pouted.

"I want my mate," She whined before facing the table again.

I sighed.

It had been a week since the battle, it was damaging towards the pack, but we were rebuilding. No one in the safe house was injured, thankfully, but we lost multiple members. We had a large funeral for all the warriors yesterday and now the pack was mourning together. As devastating as it was, to see all the mates lost, it was a beautiful ceremony.

However, a day after the battle, Izzy shared that she was pregnant. Liam, being the overbearing mate that he is, was furious that she would risk herself and their child by fighting. Izzy became frustrated that Liam didn't understand her importance on the battle field and quickly began her silent treatment. Overall, Izzy was hurt that Liam wasn't excited. He never once celebrated or kissed her silly, he went straight into his rant on the dangers of shifting while pregnant.

It had been nearly a week since they spoke and I could tell it was taking a toll on both of them. Izzy was exhausted constantly, not being able to sleep without Liam, and didn't have much of an appetite. Liam, on the other hand, was constantly training and hadn't made any effort to talk to Izzy.

"He doesn't want our baby..." Izzy mumbled sadly. Her eyes welled with tears once again. Her emotions were already hypersensitive and with the exhaustion, she had been crying nearly every moment.

"That's not true, Izzy. He's just worried," I reasoned. I shifted Adris on my lap so he was leaning against my shoulder after noticing his eyes began to close.

"Boys are stupid."

"That's true, but sometimes they're great. I mean, look at Adris, you can't say his little face is stupid," I chuckled when I saw a ghost of a smile come from Izzy. "Just talk to him, I bet it's just a misunderstanding."

"Maybe."

I sighed once again.

"Ok, I'm done with this," Praying to the Goddess that Adris wouldn't cry, I shouted. "Liam! Get your ass down here!"

I let my authority slip into my request to speed up his arrival.

"Luna?" Liam called from the kitchen doorway.

I glared at him making his eyes drop the ground as he shuffled closer to the table.

"Talk to Isabella," I ordered.

He ran a hand through his hair before sitting on the chair next to Izzy.

"Baby I-"

"No you listen," Isabella started as she stood from her chair so fast that her chair went flying back. "I get it was a stupid idea, but I had been training for that night my whole life and you have no right to tell me what I am capable of. And if you don't want this baby, you're free to walk right on out, but don't expect me to listen to your apologies when you come crawling back to the best thing to ever happen to you!"

My eyes were wide in shock, much like Liam's who had his mouth opening and closing with the lack of words. He was soon out of his state of shock when he realized Izzy was storming her way out of the room. He quickly grabbed her arm and held her against his chest.
